The final scores were in the first post on Sunday night as usual, but the table was only updated - at a slightly different link and with less than its customary clarity - within the past couple of hours. It should all be back to normal next week though. Anyway, Lawz got his D2D wrong despite going for the rarely-used option of backing his adopted side to lose. Birmingham held on for a draw at Ewood however, allowing 9 of the 20 other participants who got their picks in on time to grab 2 bonus points each, even though some of those had wrongly bet on an away win. Unsurprisingly, this leaves Lawz cut adrift at the bottom. As the former vanhalen2007/davewilson dropped out this week (did he get himself banned again?), there's now a gap of 16 to sivy.

At the other end, ultimo was the joint second highest scorer, along with steve, and one of only 5 players into double figures, so he's now clear in first place by the same margin. Haraga chose to sit this one out for some reason. I would mention the round's top scorer, but modesty forbids. The Ratt was the lowest scorer with only a solitary point on the board, as seph managed to avoid that ignominy in spite of missing out on the 8 Saturday matches.

So where did it go wrong for most people this time out? First of all, both of the Italian second-tier games resulted in victories for the visiting side, which not many foresaw, and indeed nobody managed to get the exact score for either match. Closer to home, the score draws in the Championship fixtures proved a bit more fruitful, mind. Elsewhere Swansea's failure to win at St Mary's and Wigan's surrender at home to an impressive West Brom side were not so useful for most. The stalemate at the Madejski wasn't much cop either, while the narrow success for Stoke was a bit of a mixed bag.

On Sunday, with Sky putting on a decent double-header for once, a lot of pickers foresaw the outcomes going the other way round, with Chelsea seeing off Liverpool at the Bridge and City being held by Spurs. As it turned out of course, the Reds held on fairly comfortably after their equaliser and later that afternoon, the hosts scored a late winner at Eastlands, no doubt scuppering the odd accumulator.

Another D2D coming up in a new thread then, plus visits to Spain and Germany among the set of 10, in a few moments.

I can't believe Seph outscored me despite missing 8/10 games :/ .

I'm going to have to start studying these a bit more, I don't want to end up last 2 years running.
