Paid Members SpiritOfTheForest Posted October 18, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 18, 2012 I'm going to go for an album, US death metal legends Autopsy's debut to be precise. The original album cover was censored and so a replacement was used. One of the few cases I can think of off the top of my head where the censored version was much cooler than the original!  Original cover   The censored version   The creepy demented zombie surgeons doing something unspeakably grotesque to the victim wins up against the more straightforward gore of the original. That the censored cover is taken from what the victim can see as they're tortured adds to the impact.

Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted October 18, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 18, 2012 That Suspiria one is absolutely brilliant. As is the Short Circuit 2 one, but in a different way!
Paid Members chokeout Posted October 18, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 18, 2012 - I can just picture them making a video, if they could be arsed, exactly like this for this track. Bloody superb. Â Love that video and track. Never even realised it was fan made. Â Love the fan made video to this Grandaddy track - Â I can't believe I've never seen that Grandaddy video before. It fits the song so well

Paid Members John Matrix Posted October 19, 2012 Author Paid Members Share Posted October 19, 2012  Oh and Ive mentioned it in the other thread but I love these unused concepts for Back To The Future   This is exactly the sort of thing i was hoping for when i started the thread. Beautiful.  This seems to be the more common cover i see for this movie   But i always preferred this one...
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted October 19, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 19, 2012 I don't remember either of those. This is (a variation of) the cover I always remember seeing for it. Â
Paid Members chokeout Posted October 19, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 19, 2012 Probably just going to derail this thread into a 'The awesome art of Drew Struzan' thread but theres a weird shift in his work the last few years were studios are paying him to make his iconic posters then not using them for some reason. Most of his art work has been specifically requested by the Directors (Kevin Smith made a big deal about having him do the poster for MallRats, Jon Favaru was very public about how he wanted him for the poster for Cowboys and Aliens)  Anyways. Heres a few more initial concepts for the Back To The Future poster   Random fact: The original design for the Back To The Future 3 poster had Marty in his Pink 'Clint Eastwood' outfit, Doc, and no Clara.  Shitty Photoshopped Cowboys and Aliens poster   Unused Design   Apparently it was rejected because it featured the alien, something they kept out of all the pre-release material    His unused Raiders Of The Lost Ark Design   Unused Poster for The Mist   Two of his concepts for Masters of the Universe   His unused Inglorious Basterds design   A few random ones as well  The original design for the Jumper poster   Frank Frazetta's awesome throw back poster for From Dusk Till Dawn
Paid Members John Matrix Posted October 19, 2012 Author Paid Members Share Posted October 19, 2012 I'm going slightly off topic myself with these one's as it was really concept art or legitimate alternatives i was interested in, but there's another guy (Daniel Norris) who's reimagined a ton of movie posters. These being a couple of the better ones. Â Â
