Wendell Cooley
Why didn't they have security near Punk? If a wrestler goes into the crowd you have to expect the fans will try and touch him, and this time somebody did shove him while he was standing on stairs. It's asking for trouble. Baz Windham
This is the best CM Punk video I've come across:Â http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=WAniQ0L2S3U Â From that I reckon he's justified, he gets shoved 3 times from behind by the guy. I'm not convinced it was necessarily someone else behind him. Â It definitely was someone behind him either pushing the bloke that got hit into Punk and then pushing him himself and even from the other side of him to start and Punk has clearly thought it was the same guy keep pushing him. That still doesn't mean he can lash out like that in his position and on National TV. It's ridiculous behaviour.
GalaxyV.2
If he's shoved then he's completley justified in lamping the fucker. You do not do that. Its not just once, its three times. If its the wrong guy then I'm sure Punk apologising and making a gesture will clear this up. If its the right guy, then like Jericho a few years ago, he's being provoked and his strike out is a way of defence. Â Anyway RAW was shit hot. Paid Members Nick James Posted October 9, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 9, 2012 I'm not condoning the actions of Punk hitting the fan, or the fan putting hands on Punk, but Punk was generating heat from the crowd all night and is the top heel in the company. Â He decided to go and stand in the crowd who he had been at all night and as we know, some fans can take it way too seriously so surely he should have been ready for a few pushes and what not? Â Again, not justifying anything, ive only seen little snippets of footage.
HWM
Looked to me like Punk was getting shoved around by a couple of people but ended up twatting the wrong bloke. Â Anyways...great show I thought for the most part. They could still do with going down to 2 hrs and cutting out all the filler e.g. Larry King. d-d-d-dAz
It depends I guess. Â All the old farts who run the back will be on Punks side I guess and the heat will be on the stupid tart who decided to put the biggest heel in the company amongst the crowd. Â That said, if it sneaks past the comfortable confines of the online 'rasslin rags and reaches the mainstream media then he may be fucked. They do like to make a statement in view of the world. Â It was a fucking stupid segment anyway.
jimufctna24
Watch the guy who he hits right hand (left to us) before the incident, he clearly drops his hand on the back of Punks head. Â Still as much as I like Punk, it was a bad reaction.
Reznor
Looked a pretty hefty strike too - shades of that fat bloke they brought in to beat Alundra Blayze at Survivor Series  It seemed to me that Punk did twat the guy who touched him, but only because he was pushed from behind by the lad with the white shirt. If so, not so good for ol' CM.
fugaziuk
Cranky Vince on twitter was brilliant last night. Â As for the Punk video - that kid on punks right who shoved him and then started screaming in his ear is acting all cocky - then sees punk slap the other fan and totally bricks himself! Keith Houchen
Cranky Vince on twitter was brilliant last night. Woy points out the trouble with having two Twitter accounts. With regards to the justification of Punk slapping that guy. Would it be ok if the guy promptly lamped him back if he wasn't the one who shoved him? I'm having to employ Butch's "Bob Holly" defense on this one.
GPW Kristian Zane
I very much doubt he would have lamped him back, I mean come on the guy had just seen Punk shove two guys so his first reaction was... Oh look I have a pair of expensive sunglasses here, I'm not outside but this potentially heated situation would be the perfect time to put them on! What could possibly go wrong?? KingOfMetal
Watching that Punk video of the punch incident, its some kind in a black Brock Lesnar t-shirt who shoves him twice. then at 38 seconds you see a white sleeve come around the guy who Punk ended up hitting. Simply wrong place, wrong time. Its going to be interesting to see how WWE handle this. The guy who Punk hit doesnt seem to have been involved at all so is within his rights to take action. Having said that, there should have been event staff nearby to make sure shit like this doesn't happen. They did show up but by the it was too late, Punk has been shoved 3 times by then. I can see Punk getting off with it, especially if WWE see that youtube footage. Hes one of their biggest stars at the moment and they wont want to completely bury the guy. If this had been some lower down the roster they would have been fired already
Keith Houchen
I very much doubt he would have lamped him back, I'm talking hypotheticals here. Had indoor shades bell Judas'd Punk and caused a bit of damage, would it be as justifiable as Punk potentially retaliating to the wrong guy? I don't think he would, personally but then I'm not saying Punk was in the right either.
Shane O' Mac Version 2
Putting aside the Punk incident, this was probably the best 3 hour Raw they've had since they went to 3 hours on a regular basis. Everything involving Punk and Vince was on fire. The main event was exactly the type of craziness missing from WWE, and showed that they can be exciting and edgy without resorting to blood, tits and swearing. Â I love the focus on the tag division with the mini tournament. Thinking Rhodes Scholars will win next week, though I'd like it to be Rey and Sin Cara. Â Everything involving Larry King was terrible. Only low point of the show. Â Can we just keep JBL and Jim Ross? No disrespect to the ill, but they bring so much more to the broadcast than Lawler has in years. Â Great crowd in Sacramento. They were red hot all night and it really enhanced the show. The Cum Doctor
It seemed to me that Punk did twat the guy who touched him, but only because he was pushed from behind by the lad with the white shirt. If so, not so good for ol' CM. Â I don't know if they'll punish Punk for that sort of situation. Punk doesn't have eyes on the back of his head, so doesn't know what the deal is. He's just going on instinct. Which I'm actually pretty sure WWE will be happy with.
