The final scores were put in the first post in the early hours of Monday morning, and the first table of the season was uploaded about a day later. I've tried to put it all in one place (the usual) right from the start, instead of splitting it into two in the early going, but when I log out of my Photobucket account, I only see the last update from the previous campaign. Is it working for anyone else?

In case it's not, I'll let everyone know that The Ratt is the leader of the embryonic standings, in a change of fortunes from before. He's also the second highest scorer this week, behind newcomer SNRN10 with 17 points. This time last year sivy got a rare correctly guessed D2D and spent the next few months clear at the top on his way to a fifth-placed finish. This year however, normal service is resumed as he got his fixture wrong, predicting Burton would come away from the new New York Stadium with a point, when in fact they duly surrendered at their hosts' new home, allowing them to christen it with a comfortable 3-0 victory.

For new players, that's what regularly happens with D2Ds. Of 23 other participants in this round, a grand total of 22 disagreed with him to claim their bonus points, most rightly going for a home win. All right, that number is even higher than usual. This all means poor sivy is the lowest scorer this week with just 3 points, despite being one of the few players to foresee that Liverpool would come away from The Hawthorns with nothing. That's not enough to put him dead last though. Of the bottom 5, 3 have missed either the earlier round or this one. And the lower of the other duo is, er... yours truly. The less said about that, the better.

There are of course a lot of ties at this stage. Deadlocks are broken by getting more exact scores, then if those are level, having fewer bonuses. At the moment that still leaves two blocks of people separated only by alphabetical order, but that's just a placeholder for now. If the top looked that way at the end of the season, there'd be a play-off of some sort. That big column in the middle refers to the number of consecutive weeks missed, in case anyone's wondering why Lawz and niff (who just jumped in, which is fine as it's still August) don't have a mark against them. It's just already too wide without putting the word 'consecutive' in there. After this month, if you sit out 3 rounds in a row, you're gone. If you've thrown away that many points, you should probably just give up anyway, mind.

Finally, I'm going to need D2D choices from the aforementioned newbie niff if (s)he is serious about carrying on week in, week out and also from the regulars TUFCfan and The Whole Show. Sorry if you PMed me and I accidentally deleted it, or just never noted down the teams on my spreadsheet, but the onus is on you to make me notice and not forget. Oh look, it's already gone midnight so I'd better get on with posting the next thread sharpish. Don't want to fall into bad habits this early in the season!
