Didn't Danny Bryan go overboard with his actions on live TV once and get sacked for it, glad he wasn't a dick about it and went off on one on Twitter. Ok, not exactly the same situation but it might be similar and WWE felt the need to take action yet, may have been happy to take him back on later on when it had cooled over and been completely forgotten about and AW had apologised.

Either way, the spouting off about PG is pretty pathetic and lamer than when fans do it.

Spot on, same with Finlay. Accept the bullet, keep calm, do a couple of indy dates to keep yourself in shape and your chance will come again. It's amazing that he's gone this mental over it. Mind you, he's probably skint.

I'd imagine the conversation WWE had with Daniel Bryan was as follows:

"Ok so here's the deal, we loved the Nexus invasion but our sponsors are really pissed at you choking Justin with his tie. Tell you what, take some time off, collect your check, do a few dates on the indies so they think you're sacked and then we'll bring you back once it all blows over and you can get your heat back at Nexus, for saying they kicked you out or something."

A few months later, in his surprise return match, he is main-eventing SummerSlam.

^Pretty much what I was going to post. It was the sponsors that got Bryan fired for doing something he was probably told to do. This is totally different - this was AW going out on a limb and saying something really out-of-line when he's not a guy they see big things for.

I'd be getting the cops onto him if I were Lawler. What an idiot

Admittedly I don't really understand Twitter, but my impression is that all those Lawler swipes came from other Twitter users rather than Washington himself? It's one thing mouthing off a bit in the hope of stirring up enough of a buzz to get re-hired one day, but there's not really any coming back from explicitly calling a longtime WWE employee a nonce.

The guy's obviously an idiot if he doesn't see how his actions in the PG era in 2012 differ from the other examples he lists.

In other news, fortunate that he was going by his character's initials, A.W., rather than his real name's initials, B.J. (Although B.J. would have been appropriate: he sucks.)

Must say I will miss AW a bit as I thought his character as a manager who comes out and promotes his team during the match with his built in microphone was great and a brilliant way to try to get a wrestler/team over, and probably himself as a manager in the process. He had the charisma and so on, it's just a shame he messed it up, I do kinda agree with some of the things he's saying, WWE seem to be a lot quicker in firing someone who has said or done something they aren't happy about but a few years ago it was all about taking chances and those sort of things back then did help talent to get over and get fans talking about them. Now though it has fans talking but they fire the person as they don't want any controversy, whereas back then controversy was seen as a good word!

AW should know better now though as WWE is a different place and focuses on being a company that kids can follow so for him to come out with something like that was a bit stupid.

Hopefully they will bring him back at some point to bring back AW Promotions and help talent in getting over in the role he was in. I can't see Titus and Darren Young being as big now that they're on their own unless they get them a new manager who is as charasmatic as AW. I can't see WWE bringing him back after that Twitter tirade though.

And so it is, Vickie Guerrero returns to being the most annoying and distracting thing on TV. Wonder where this leaves Titus O'Neil and Darren Young? That monstrosity on the mic was pretty much the only USP they had, can see them jobbing out to Tensai and Ryback by next week.

A real shame. Darren and Titus will be a lot more bland without him. I'm glad they kept him around an extra week or two though because throwing a shoe at Kofi Kingston and shouting "YO MAMMA" was hilarious.

The PrimeTime Players have charisma and a good gimmick without AW. He was a good addition to their package, but not an essential one. The pair of them can still do stupid dances, act like brash jocks and holler 'MILLIONSADOLLAS!' without him being there. They were probably at their most entertaining when they paired up on NXT, and AW wasn't part of their act then.

After WWE unceremoniously terminated A.W.'s contract Friday for what a company spokesman said was due to his continued use of offensive and inappropriate comments on live television and on social media after uttering a rape joke on the July 30 episode of Raw, the All World Promotions chief posted a barrage of vitriolic messages on Twitter blistering his former employer for what he perceives are double standards.

A.W. strongly feels it is unjust that he's now out of job when Big Show made a similar remark referencing NBA player Kobe Bryant's sexual assault case, Vince McMahon reneged WWE's anti-bullying campaign two months ago on Raw by ridiculing Jim Ross' facial paralysis, CM Punk told a fan on Twitter to kill himself, Triple H simulated mock sex with a mannequin in a casket, McMahon used a racial epithet on national television, and the company showcased a character making light of mentally challenged individuals, among other unsavory events. Fans comments he posted include: "VINCE MCMAHON CAN SAY THE "N" WORD ON NATIONAL T.V. BUT @AWPromotions CAN'T TELL A JOKE.............whats wrong with this picture???"

"McMahon is a hypocrite! It's cool for him to mock JR's Bells Palsy, & you aren't cut any slack for one joke? #BeAStarVince."

"I hope Vince hasn't forgot How he mocked @JRsBBQ on #RAW live, and @AWPromotions gets released for one joke?"

"@if only you had strangled someone with your tie, you'd be back within 6 months lol."

"so Dx can tell everyone to suck it but u can't make a joke?"

"@CMPunk told one of his twitter followers to kill themselves. biggest double standard in the world."

"@kane has sex with a dead girl but @AWPromotions makes a kobe joke and gets fired."

"Vince can kick the leg out from under a one legged kid, wrestle women, mock The mentally retarded and he fired you!!!"

"@Didn't Big Show make a Kobe Bryant reference in a battle rap with Cena in 2003

... but AW gets let go?"

A.W. feels he is a casualty of Linda McMahon's Republican pursuit of a United States Senate seat in Connecticut, which many have speculated has led the sports-entertainment organization to take action on any matter deemed controversial so as not to affect her campaign.

He tweeted to Linda, "Creates jobs my ass!! I'm fired thanks to you and your campaign."

Thats Goldust and AW fired over incidents involving (but not actually having anything to do) with the Prime Time Players. Goldust was the agent in their match and AW was their manager. They are the kiss of death these lads.

Goldust's always been an absolute knob on Twitter as well. Him and AW should form a team and attack the PTP out of the crowd.
