!! 6 Man Tag: Team PPW vs Team Venue71 !!

!! Giant Addition to Team Venue71 !!

PPW Management responded quickly to the controversy that followed Lord Graham Thomas III's takeover of PPW's home ground - Venue71 in West Bromwich - by announcing the news that, on September 14th, PPW fans will see Team PPW (3 competitors of PPW Promoter Chris Liston's choosing) take on Team Venue71 (3 competitors of Lord Graham Thomas III's chosoing) in a HUGE Six Man Tag Team Match...

...PPW Team Captain British Born Steele had promised that his team would be full of passion and would be the embodiment of PPW, and there is noone who fits that bill more so than the ever popular, heart on his sleeve brawler, Zero Tolerance! Completing Team PPW, joining BBS and Zero, will be returning hero and hometown boy, Lucian L. Jones! His Highness of Flyness, the King of Bling, has been teasing a possible return to PPW @SultanofSwagga on Twitter, claiming that he is the real number one contender for the PPW Championship, and BBS and Team PPW will be hoping to harness that energy and drive going into LIKE IT USED TO BE on September 14th in West Bromwich...

...On the opposite side of the ring, Lord Graham Thomas III has announced a GIANT addition to his Team Venue71. Joining his Lordship will be the monster of Phoenix Pro Wrestling, the giant Barricade!! With Team Venue71 shaping up nicely, it looks like Team PPW will have its work cut out on September 14th and, just to add an extra twist to proceedings, Lord Graham Thomas III has told PPW Management that he won't be announcing the 3rd member of Team Venue71 until the night of the show...

...This match is without question the biggest Tag Team Match in the history of PPW. Who will come out on top on September 14th?

!! New No.1 Contender crowned for September 14th amidst controversy in West Bromwich !!

PPW made its "home ground" return on the 13th July, in front of a Sold Out, standing room only crowd at the revamped Venue 71 in West Bromwich. PPW always aims to entertain its audiences with the highest quality wrestling on show in the Midlands today. However, amidst the high quality wrestling, there was, on this night, high drama as "Luscious" Lucas Black rounded off an excellent first 18 months in PPW by becoming the number one contender to "The Mexican Sensation" El Ligero's PPW Championship on September 14th's annual "LIKE IT USED TO BE" British Rules Event in HIGHLY controversial fashion...

4q29me.jpg

Undefeated in singles competition and unquestionably the stand out performer in the Evolution League 2011; "Luscious" Lucas Black is no doubt a worthy contender to El Ligero's PPW Crown. However, it was The Luscious One's mercenary dealing with Venue71 owner Lord Graham Thomas III and the controversial end to the Number 1 Contender's Match with Nate Colt (whereby it appeared that PPW Senior Referee Russ Burt was paid off by Lord Graham Thomas III to call a Submission when Colt was clearly NOT tapping to Black's Sharp Shooter) that left the West Bromwich crowd angry and frustrated at the way in which Black became the No.1 Contender.

On the other side of the ring, El Ligero has proven himself to be a truly resilient, yardstick performer throughout his first year as PPW Champion, overcoming the challenges of World of Sport Veteran Keith Myatt, "The Prodigy" Paul Malen and "Wonderkid" Jonny Storm in 2011/12, and the unparrelled technical ability and in ring experience of the Champion will arguably give him the edge over the No.1 Contender in a British Rules environment. However, should the Number 1 Contender have Lord Graham Thomas III in his corner (and added to that the very real possibility that Senior Referee Russ Burt will be the 3rd man in the ring at "Like It Used To Be"), it may prove to be one title defence too far for The Mexican Sensation, when he returns to the PPW ring on September 14th to face the challenge of "Luscious "Lucas Black.

With so many X Factors going into this high profile bout, its too close to call and could be anybody's match. Will we see a new PPW Champion crowned on September 14th?? Very possibly.

!! Revenge in mind for The Predators on September 14th !!

Those of you who were on hand for PPW's Standing Room Only, Sold Out return to Venue71 will remember the look of sheer frustration on the faces of The Predators, Joseph Conners and Paul Malen, as they came up short in a thrilling tag team clash with PPW young guns Team NRG, Sean Morell and Jack Walker...

v5l2cx.jpg

...In the early going, things looked almost embarrassingly easy for Malen and Conners, as they outweighed and appeared to completely outclass their relatively inexperienced competition... BUT... Team NRG showed the heart and the resilience to hang in there with the big bullies of PPW. Jack and Sean kept their faith in their classic British Wrestling training, staying true to the technical style that makes them a different class to the majority of young wrestlers in Britain today, and (much to the shock of both The Predators and the PPW fans!) were able to out wit and out skill their larger, more experienced competition to emerge victorious...

6nw2lk.jpg

...The Predators however are not ready to lie down and accept defeat just yet! Widely accepted as the best tag team in the UK at the moment, Malen and Conners have revenge on their mind as they look to turn the tables on Team NRG by defeating Sean and Jack at their own game! On September 14th, back at Venue71, PPW fans will witness not one but TWO more British Rules Matches, as Jack Walker takes on "Special Edition" Joseph Conners and Sean Morell faces the opposition of "The Prodigy" Paul Malen, both matches fought under classic British Rules - 8x 3 minutes rounds...

...Will The Predators get their revenge? Or will Team NRG prove once more that their classic British Wrestling style is too much for the competition here in PPW? Find out on September 14th!

!! PPW unveils a 4th British Rules Match for Sept 14th - and it's a big one !!

As promised on Facebook this week, PPW Management has revealed a 4th British Rules Match for the 2nd Annual British Wrestling LIKE IT USED TO BE Event, to be held on September 14th, at Venue71 in West Bromwich, and it is a heavyweight clash that has all the elements required to be an absolute show stealer...

1zq4h3t.jpg

UK veteran "The English Lion" Tyson T-Bone made his PPW debut in July to an amazing crowd response, as he defeated fellow debutant, "The Pride of Wales" Eddie Dennis, in a thrilling opening contest. Heading into September's British Rules show, T-Bone will now be looking to ride the wave of crowd support and put himself in the PPW Championship mix with a second high profile victory in a row.

Providing the opposition for T-Bone is the rugged, yet technically proficient, "The Yob" Jon Carnage. Carnage is one of those characters in British Wrestling that, for reasons unknown to just about anyone, has never quite reached the level (certainly outside of the West Midlands) that someone of his fluent technical ability undoubtably deserves. On September 14th however, Birmingham's most infamous yob will be looking to make a name for himself at the highest level against one of Britain's finest.

BREAKING NEWS: PPW CHAMPION EL LIGERO SPEAKS OUT ABOUT HIS TOUGHEST TEST SO FAR ON SEPTEMBER 14TH!!

This Friday night PPW Champion El Ligero faces the toughest test of his PPW Championship reign so far, as he steps into the ring against "Luscious" Lucas Black, who - like the Champion - is undefeated in singles competition here in PPW.

With Lord Graham Thomas III in his corner, and a cloud of controversy hanging over PPW Senior Official Russ Burt, the odds seem stacked heavily in the challenger's favour. However, after a meeting via Skype this week with El Ligero, it is clear that the man from Los Sanchos is not giving up on his PPW fans, not by a long way...

Skype Interview with PPW Champion El Ligero: Los Sanchos, Mexico: Friday 7th September

:Via Translator:

"On May 13th 2011, I had the honour and the privilege of wrestling a British wrestling legend, with the crowning of the first ever PPW Heavyweight Championship at stake. On that night, I overcame 'Wonderkid' Jonny Storm, to become the very first man to have that belt strapped around my waist.

There will be many great champions throughout a title's lineage, but only ONE 'first', and to this day, just 1 week before PPW's 2nd Annual 'Like It Used To Be', there have been no other PPW Champions, no more names added to that lineage. In nearly 500 days - 483 to be exact -, no other man has held the PPW Championship. I have stepped up every single time and overcome every single challenger. Jonny Storm, Keith Myatt, Paul Malen, Bubblegum, the list goes on. And every single time, I have left with that title belt over my shoulder. Have I done it alone? No. I have had every single PPW fan that pays their hard-earned money to attend the shows behind me every step of the way, through the good times and the bad.

What I have never done however, is feel the need to align myself with crooks and thieves, cheat my way towards championship glory, and enlist the help of a man who can't get the job done by himself. When that bell rings, I am a man fighting alone and a man who proudly stands tall for every single PPW fan.

I am damn proud to have held this championship for nearly 500 days, and I'll be damned if, on September 14th, I leave without it. The decks are stacked heavily against me, and I know this could be the biggest challenge to my title I've ever faced. But I'm not going down without a fight."
