Paid Members WWFChilli Posted June 19, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 19, 2012 I don't really plan on watching the product for a while. Even if something interesting happens one week, I'm untrustworthy of it carrying on the next week. Â Yeah, watch Impact Wrestling.
RIDDUM_N_STYLE
Opening tag match and the Heyman/Triple H promo aside it was a very meh show again, just nothing redeeming about it this month. May have to start getting back into watching Impact as I really enjoyed Slammiversary last week
melina_mma
20 years of viewing... this might be it. I can't even see how kids would enjoy the shows right now. Â Looking forward to Impact Wrestling. Â Yet i bet you and all the other haters will tune back in with 2 weeks

NEWM
Thing is, as much as melina_mma put it across in a bit of a mouth-breathing way, he's right. If Ash has been a 20 year fan, he's seen plenty of other shit too. Shitter than this even. This won't shove him away for good, and I doubt anything will. I imagine everybody on here at one point or another in their fan lifespan has been guilty of a bit of grandstanding from time to time when things go a bit rubbish. Paid Members WWFChilli Posted June 19, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 19, 2012 Thats a fair point. Last night was just depressing viewing though. I'm not gonna bother.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted June 19, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 19, 2012 I've been an irregular viewer for years now. I'll start watching again when it gets interesting. It doesn't even have to be good. I'll watch bad wrestling. But nothing is happening at the minute. And worse than that, nothing is happening with characters that don't interest me at all. Its the same storylines you always see. You can't expect people to sit through 3 hours of something that you aren't enjoying. Especially when Sting and Hogan are my alternative. You aren't going to compete with that.

Isn't she the head of creative writing or whatever they're called?  Unless of course they're so oblivious to how awful things are and giving each other pats on the back every week smoking their cigars. Paid Members LaGoosh Posted June 19, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 19, 2012 Ever since Steph took over as head of creative there was never been a sustained long period where Raw has been must-see TV. On top of that you have guys like Gerwitz, Michael Hayes who are probably creatively burnt out and are just going through the motions, Triple H probably concentrating full time on talent development, and an old tired passed-the-times Vince McMahon who probably doesn't care as much anymore and doesn't seem to want to get behind any of the new talent. Surround that by a writing staff that seems to constantly hire and fire people (and don't come from a wrestling background) and you've got todays boring, stale, lifeless product. MinceMcMahon
Meh. I thought that Foley was wasted, Heath Slater was quite funny, enjoyed the Heyman vs HHH segment and the rest was a blur tbh. Â WWE has gone to shit in the last couple of months. I quite liked the first few months of 2012 but it's been downhill since then. Impact Wrestling has been the better show for quite a while now. TNA have all the momentum.
Direct Impact
Another lack of continuity last night, the last time Mick Foley was in the ring with John Lauranitis, JL hit him in the head with a mic. I was hoping Foley would repay the favour, but no mention of it what so ever. Did anyone think that Foley's speach was abit slurred (due to his teeth not booze/ drugs). Â I like the idea of ex-GM's running the show, so at the top of my head we could see the following running the show (I'm excluding TNA Talent); Sgt.Slaughter, Shawn Michaels, William Regal, Ric Flair, Stephanie McMahon, Mike Adamle, Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Teddy Long, Vicky Guerro and Paul Heymen. I've probably missed people out (I haven't counted 1 night GM's/ Guest Host's). Â The Cyndi Lauper section was bad, car crash TV. Was Cyndi Lauper pissed? Did Rowdy Roddy Piper get Wendi Richter's name wrong? What was Lauper waffling on about Piper changing his ways? And did Piper have to tell Lauper when to smash Slater over the head? She busted him open too. Michael Cole apologising for the segment afterwards was funny. Â EDIT: I missed out Johnathon Coachman and the Anonymous GM. King Pitcos
Thing is, as much as melina_mma put it across in a bit of a mouth-breathing way, he's right. No he's not. Every wrestling fan who has ever done the "I'M DONE WITH WWE" gimmick on a forum has stuck by their guns, and definitely won't be in the same thread moaning next week. Â Triple H needs a new "Here's the thing" t-shirt. It's been his fucking catchphrase for ages now. Â Layla's voice is stupid. It's never bugged me as much before, but it really did on Raw. Her American accent is as bad as Katie Burchill's English one. That whole segment was really weird. It's like it was intended to be a trainwreck right from the beginning. Layla seemed to be in a panic about something as soon as Mae and Moolah came down, and then Piper turned up with that odd, cloying sentimentality like he does half the time now. Slater was on great form though. Â Definitely agreed with NEWM and tiger_rick that it's annoying how the person running the show is never given much thought. Â I went to bed during the break in the opening tag match because these four cunts are always having matches on telly that don't really matter but go on for ages. Watched the rest this morning. I liked that Ziggler and Swagger had a match, but I don't see where Ziggler goes from here except back to where he was a year or more ago. He'll probably beat Santino for the US title soon and defend it against Kofi and Ryder. I hope I'm wrong on that, but at this point, what else is he going to do? Â WWE has got a decent crop of midcard talent. Kofi, Ryder, Santino, Brodus, Ziggler, Swagger (when he plays up the jock stuff). But it's almost impossible to imagine anything fresh being done with those combinations at this point. Even if they did start writing storylines for them, they probably couldn't shake off the "fucking hell, him vs him again?" factor. They've wasted a lot of potential by neglecting to write stories for any of them and just using the random match generator to fill 15 minutes for the last few years. Â I'm glad Big Show vs Cena seemed to be done and dusted. I can't fathom who Cena is facing next month though, there's just nobody that can be plugged in against him. Daniel Bryan? Paid Members Halitosis Romantic Posted June 19, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 19, 2012 I thought that show last night was a total load of bollocks, and I'm considering voting with my feet. Impact is consistently blowing RAW out of the water, presently.
Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted June 19, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 19, 2012 We'll all be back for the 1000 episode. The proper stars will be on that show. Â Heyman and Triple H were the only people that came across as something worth investing in, on this show. Like others stated, their exchanges were not only delivered great but you sensed actual hate between both men. In a perfect World they'd be begging Heyman to come back, post-Brock, as an on-air mouthpiece (manager/announcer/GM). He's great at playing a greezy Jew - oh wait. Â That Lauper/Piper segment highlights a lot of their problems. First they actually write shite like that, then they have Michael Cole take a verbal dump on it before it even got started. I can see why people questioned why they bothered watching, during this. Â The only other thing I can remember is AJ skipping around the ring with Kane's mask on; making her look like a spaz burn victim. Â I want The Rock back soon. I'm sorry mate, with hindsight your sub-par promos and fake grinning are greatly missed. At least with The Rock I care what he's saying/up to. Anybody that moans about The Rock when his return should be forced to watch the past two months of Raw, on a loop.
AndyUK
RAW is indeed shit at the minute. They put on two great PPV's in Wrestlemania and Extreme Rules and things were looking up but it seems like they're only capable of booking anything good when past stars are around. Â Foley being back as General Manager for one night sounded great in theory but what was the point when he was just there for ten minutes at the start? Hopefully he does a bit more on Smackdown. The Cyndi Lauper segment was just horrible television and Cena beating on non-wrestlers has definitely run its course now. Thank god for the exchange between Heyman and HHH. Â The only real reasons I'm still watching are because I'm waiting to see what they do with the 1000th show and I'm enjoying this Lesnar/HHH feud. Definitely gonna give Impact another go regardless.
