Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted June 10, 2012 Paid Members Posted June 10, 2012  MAIN CARD (ESPN?) Gray Maynard vs Clay Guida Spencer Fisher vs Sam Stout Brian Ebersole vs TJ Waldburger Ross Pearson vs Cub Swanson  FUEL TV PRELIMS (ufc.tv) Hatsu Hioki vs Ricardo Lamas Ramsey Nijem vs CJ Keith Steven Siler vs Joey Gambino Matt Brown vs Luis Ramos Chris Camozzi vs Nick Catone Dan Miller vs Ricardo Funch Francisco Rivera vs Ken Stone Rick Story vs Brock Jardine  This beauty is nearly upon us. I really love the look of this, especially the main card.  Gray vs Clay is a fight that I can't possibly see not delivering. When Clay's up against someone he can't simply take down at will it usually turns into a fantastic fight. Both have very good wrestling although I'd favour Maynard in that area, but I can see this being all over the place. Gray's got the power but Clay's unbelievably tough. Gray has punched himself out and tired before, Clay's a cardio freak. Great fight. I'm chuffed it's a 5 rounder aswell, I fancy Maynard to win on points.  I'm actually just as excited about the Fisher vs Stout rubber match as I am the main event to be honest.   These two really bring out the best in each other. Sure Fisher's not been on his best form lately but he can still go to war, he gave Ross Pearson a fairly close fight last year. People thought Josh Thomson had seen better days too yet him and Gilbert Melendez still tore it up in their third fight the other week. This is the same kind of thing I reckon, their 2 fights kind of made each other so they'll both be determined to win the trilogy. I can see this being another three round, bloody, all out war.  I'd give the edge to Stout at this point but who gives a shit really? I just wanna see them go again. If you haven't seen the first two try to find them.  Pearson/Swanson is another potential barnburner too. And Waldburger is getting a big main card fight after his nifty submission last time out. I think Ebersole will be a bit too much for him but we'll see.  Prelims look good, Hioki should move into a contenders fight if he wins and it would be nice to see Dan Miller get a win in his home state. And a guy called Brock Jardine is on the card.
G-Unit Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Yeah it's a solid card and the main event should be fun. I mean how can u not love watching Guida fight? Â Im a big Ebersole fan and think too many people will dismiss him after his super close fight last time out but the two fights prior to that he was in fine form. He is my one to watch Friday night. His problem is that age is against him and he is in a super stacked division. Â Stout and Fisher should be great also and I'm hoping Pearson gets a stoppage win which I feel he needs big time As he hasnt stopped anyone since aron Simpson at UFC 105

I'm a big fan as well, he has good sub defense and good finishing instincts, I'll say 2nd round TKO win.

Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted June 11, 2012 Author Paid Members Posted June 11, 2012 Yeah Pearson will be up there should he win. Probably won't get a shot for a while yet though cos I'd think guys like Zombie, Koch, Hioki and Oliveira are all ahead of him in the title race. Plus isn't he the frontrunner to coach the UK vs Aus TUF opposite G-Sot?
The Natural Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 When Maynard/Guida was announced, I thought Maynard would win and I haven't changed that view. Maynard by decision.
Rey_Piste Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Both of these fights are difficult to guess who would win, both Guida and Maynard are good wrestlers, but I'd give Guida the advantage with the stand up. I just have a feeling Maynard will grind it out against the fence to get the decision. As for the co-main event I think I'd have to give it to Fisher, but that's going to be another battle either way.
Paid Members Bus Surfer Posted June 12, 2012 Paid Members Posted June 12, 2012 This is 5 rounds yeah? I'm picking Guida for the long haul. I don't think Maynard's gas will hold out for 5 rounds and Guida will out work him. All the fights on the main card look like they will be cracking on paper.
Kenny McBride Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 It hurts me to root for Clay Guida with his ricockulous hair and his stupid dancing and his cave troll brother and his infuriating interviews, but against Gray Maynard I would root for Satan himself. Five rounds of Guida's worst possible drunken sailor will do me fine in this one. Here's hoping it's more like a one-sided annihilation. I don't want Gray Maynard anywhere near a title shot ever again. Â I suppose the only upside to a Maynard win might be him getting a shot at Diaz when Diaz is champ. Over five rounds, there's no way Maynard could sneak another bullshit decision.

I think the 3 round main events ended with Gustafsson vs Silva and Johnson vs McCall 2. All 5's from here on in.  It hurts me to root for Clay Guida with his ricockulous hair and his stupid dancing and his cave troll brother and his infuriating interviews, but against Gray Maynard I would root for Satan himself. Him and Frankie gave us two of the best fights of the year last year. Admittedly I did find him a boring bastard at times, the Florian fight was abysmal if I remember right but them two Edgar fights were outstanding.  I agree though, I would fancy Diaz over Gray in a 5 rounder. Sorry Dave.
Kenny McBride Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Good fights don't count when it's Gray Fucking Maynard.
METAL ON METAL Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 Guida will have his hair braided for this fight after Maynard filed a written complaint to the NJ Athletic Commission. Â Â Going to be weird not seeing his hair all over the place.
Paid Members wandshogun09 Posted June 16, 2012 Author Paid Members Posted June 16, 2012 Maynard's just jealous that his hair looked like shite when he tried to grow it. He looked like Mick Hucknall with a gym membership. He's clearly lashing out at Clay out of pure envy.

He really did that? What a bitch. Count me aboard the Gray hate train. How many fights has Guida had in the UFC without his hair being an issue?
