Just over 5 weeks left before this event and i'm here to announce the remaining matches of the card!

Tickets still available to buy safely and securely online at www.grandprowrestling.co.uk/shop they will also be on sale at the XWA show on July 28th, along with our usual well stocked DVD library! (We intend to beat XWA in every department, even merchandise sales. Should be easy.)

Here are the final two matches for GPW: "From Wigan, with Love"

Super Six Man:

Austin, Ligero, Diamond vs. Walker, Juice, Oscuo

With a mix of new faces, old faces, high flyers, technical wizards and brawlers - do Six Men Tags come much more exciting than this?!

Former GPW British Champion, “The Juice” CJ Banks teams up with former GPW Tag Team Champion, Jiggy Walker and new-comer, El Oscuro to form a formidable looking threesome.

Since his return to GPW, Banks has been as impressive as ever, back off a suspension, he’ll have even more to prove against some old enemies in Zack Diamond, the man who took his British title off him. And, El Ligero, the man he had a famous feud with that culminated in the first ever Los Sanchos Street Fight. His partners are every bit as dangerous as he is. Walker, a proven brawler with an innovative flair and crippling move-set will once again stand opposite the ring to L.A Austin, a man he knocked out in March and lost in a tag match to in June. Finally, there is the mysterious El Oscuro. Alan A.A Tasker’s new masked man who got off to winning ways in his debut match against Zach Diamond after disrupting El Ligero’s induction to the Mexican Hall of Fame. Will his lethal mist strike again?

GPW mainstay, El Ligero teams with new-comer, rookie sensation, L.A Austin and former British Champion Zack Diamond to form their opposition. Can Ligero gain a measure of revenge over Oscuro? Can L.A Austin embarrass Jiggy Walker again, and what will happen when CJ Banks and Zack Diamond cross paths again? So much to look forward to here! But the question is, which team will win?

Tag Team Match:

Hayes & Kirby vs. Cyanide & Bubblegum

maineventtag.png

A huge tag team encounter!

Hayes and reigning Heavyweight Champion, Martin Kirby have formed somewhat of an alliance over the years, teaming up on a frequent occasion against a common enemy. But, they’ll need to be at their most cohesive, and very best on August 24th as they take on their biggest challenge yet, the duo of former Heavyweight Champion, Bubblegum, and current No.1 Contender to the Heavyweight Title, Cyanide.

There are long, sordid and well documented histories between Bubblegum, Joey and Kirby, throwing Cyanide into the equation makes this match a totally unmissable match! Cyanide has lead a path of destruction since aligning himself with Alan A.A Tasker, a path Joey Hayes has felt the wrath of before having been sidelined with injuries courtesy of Tasker's man. After coming close to winning the title in June, Cyanide is an undeniable threat to the title that Kirby cannot ignore. What the future holds for these two men will start to unravel itself in this amazing looking tag match!

Do not miss this first time ever, one off tag team match!

Setting off for this in about an hour, then following up with Triple-X in Coventry tomorrow.

With the break between events, and the XWA stuff in the meantime, this show seems to have crept up from nowhere without much attention - I admittedly only actually looked at the announced bill today - but this does have all the makings of a cracker. The Hayes/Kirby vs. Cyanide/Bubblegum bout looks a show-stealer if anything is gong to beat Gallagher vs. Robbie "WE WANT MORE!!" Brookside, but the 6-man tag should be tremendous bags of fun too. BINMAN vs. Kraze and Hope vs. Echo look good on paper too.

It'd be a nice continuation from the xwa vs gpw show since the blondes are xwa guys and heresy/ddl are gpw originals.

Good point, well made! But given the history between the two could they put their bad blood aside to win the Tag Team Championship? Only one way to find out!

Here's some results/commments from the show in progress, via the Twittah Machine of Big Benny HG, who comments that GPW has it's "biggest crowd in some time"...

Ligero/Gibson/Austin beat Banks/Walker/Oscuro, Austin pinning Banks with a sunset flip. This was just great. Ligero and Oscuro fought to the back during the closing stages. GPW continue to excel at 6 man tags.

Danny Hope beat Chris Echo, completing his William Regal tribute with a running knee. Hope retains MITB briefcase.

Cyanide/Bubblegum beat Kirby/Hayes, Cyanide pinning GPW champ Kirby. Terrific tag tussle. Hayes left due to injury, Bubblegum ran away from DDL, leaving Kiby to face DEATH from the monster Cyanide. Danny Hope thought about cashing in his MITB, but thought better when he saw Cyanide stood over Kirby. Real good first half of show.

BINMAN~! beat Cameron Kraze with a spear from the 2nd rope to retain British title. Real good fun. Danny Hope tried to cash in MITB after, but ate a spear before he could.

Next segment involved Professor Mike Holmes, Jason Logan and bananas. Jason Logan does indeed like bananas.

Blackpool Blonds beat Track n Field to retain Tag Trophy. Track n Field attacked by HEADSHRINKERS after...

Jack Gallagher beat Robbie Brookside to retain Gallagher's Gold with a choke in the ropes after Brookside used all 3 rope breaks. Brookside challenges Gallagher to a match with 12 rounds, 2 falls, 2 submissions or a KO "next time".

"Real good show from GPW tonight. Next one's 5th October..."
