KingOfMetal
I've just this week won my case for keeping my job (been suspended since October 2nd), which the company was trying to fire for 'gross misconduct' in which I have failed to follow refund policy by nothing a witness present. Policy states '2 people must be present at all times whilst the refund is being processed'. My argument was a) it was not always possible due to staff-ing levels b) policy states 2 people, which could interpret the customer as being one of said people c) why am I being investiagted whilst another supervisor isn't, despite also failing to follow poiicy (she'll have just lied and said she does) Â Out of 3 of us being investiagted, Im the only person to keep his job. Now this is either down to me presenting my case in an orderly fashion, or could because I had my trade union rep with me and we made it abundantly clear that if i was dismissed, that we would appeal and would be willing to take it to an employment tribunal. Â Either way, I still have a job and am willing to take anything that is better paying and permanent. The only reason I fought to keep my job is to still be in employment whilst looking for a new job rather than having a gap in employment. No targets, no kpi's no phone work. just turning up having banter, getting paid and fucking off home. Win !

Unlikely. it's in a refurbed old train station, attached to an old hospital complex (great for Urbex, as everything is still in place by all accounts albeit trashed Indeed this is right next to where I work)  The only risk, is getting attacked by service users! (For that is the official NHS name for them) that wonder the grounds as is part of a medium high security hospital which has been built on the old St John's Annexe. However they are usually escorted and I get lifts from front gates to where I am.
Mr_Danger
Just been reinstated and had my dismissal downgraded to a written warning. They cited the mitigation of other people breaking cash office proceedures as a direct result of what I had done as well as the stress I had been put under by the company. I go in tomorrow to be reintegrated back in to the work place however I fully intend to resign.

Mr_Danger
No doubt i'll try to start off like Lester Burnham but descend into Costanza farce within seconds. I was thinking just a letter in an envelope and agreeing upon a period of notice however for my own personal enjoyment I'll try to leave the room on a George Costanza high, leave them wanting more. Jambo
My interview for a Security job at a Casino up in Aberdeen went well, luckily I found out I knew of the GM of the casino from her time in Dundee, so looking good for a second interview and touch wood some work. RIDDUM_N_STYLE
Up and down day on the job front for me, got rejected for a 6 month job with RBS via email (which I only found out tonight when logging on as I'd been out all day) but was offered a Christmas job with Card Factory starting in two weeks. Gotta go in on Saturday to sort my contract, hours, and get my uniform which I'm looking forward to as I've been out of work since the end of January
Awards Moderator Frankie Crisp Posted October 23, 2012 Awards Moderator Share Posted October 23, 2012 That's great news, Steve! Don't focus on the one you didn't get, appreciate the one you did get. It may only be a seasonal job but that can lead to more. I started my current job on a two week trial and that was nearly five years ago! Well done bud, hope it goes well. RIDDUM_N_STYLE
Cheers Frankie, non too fussed about the RBS job in all honesty as I would have been doing call centre type work which I hate. I'm just glad that I'm going to have some extra income coming in for xmas
Paid Members air_raid Posted October 25, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted October 25, 2012 Finished my 3 days of TEFL training today so got my 30 hour certificate. Just got my grammar, advance and I-think-one-more online courses to do to get my 150 hour certificate, then I can start looking at Visa requirements, job applications and teaching myself Japanese beyond elementary standards. Quicker I fuck off and don't come back, the better. Â My personal highlights were lying to the Swedish girl about watching Germany 4-4 Sweden so I could say how well the Swedes recovered, just so she would speak to me for at least another two minutes, and the following exchange : Â Tutor : Any other examples of using the past continuous tense, with different pronouns? Jack Whitehall Clone #1 : We were walking down the street. Chinese Girl : She was buying a sandwich. Raid : You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar when I met you. Tutor (oblivious) : Excellent. Â No it's not you, it's the other one! Â Racist. Shame.
