RIDDUM_N_STYLE 134 Report post Posted October 24, 2012 Cheers Frankie, non too fussed about the RBS job in all honesty as I would have been doing call centre type work which I hate. I'm just glad that I'm going to have some extra income coming in for xmas
air_raid 2,495 Report post Posted October 25, 2012 Finished my 3 days of TEFL training today so got my 30 hour certificate. Just got my grammar, advance and I-think-one-more online courses to do to get my 150 hour certificate, then I can start looking at Visa requirements, job applications and teaching myself Japanese beyond elementary standards. Quicker I fuck off and don't come back, the better. Â My personal highlights were lying to the Swedish girl about watching Germany 4-4 Sweden so I could say how well the Swedes recovered, just so she would speak to me for at least another two minutes, and the following exchange : Â Tutor : Any other examples of using the past continuous tense, with different pronouns? Jack Whitehall Clone #1 : We were walking down the street. Chinese Girl : She was buying a sandwich. Raid : You were working as a waitress in a cocktail bar when I met you. Tutor (oblivious) : Excellent. Â No it's not you, it's the other one! Â Racist. Shame.
King Pitcos 1,639 Report post Posted October 25, 2012 (edited) Have you already researched the rave clubs and class A dealers out there? Â Edited October 25, 2012 by King Pitcos
air_raid 2,495 Report post Posted October 25, 2012 I watched West Brom v Man United (kick off midnight local time) in Roppongi last August, if that counts. I think where we went afterwards didnt really qualify as a rave club, if I understand you kids' vernacular correctly. Although the novelty of watching the JWP Openweight Champion getting grinded on by Nipponese lads that barely came up to her (ample) bosom, followed by a brisk walk to the train station as the sun was coming up while trying to ignore the hookers pulling forlornly at my jacket sleeves still hasn't quite worn off. Â In terms of class A, since turning 30 I am far more inclined to research whether or not I can get brown sauce than locate a local merchant of Bolivian. And speaking of the hookers, my mate informs me that if they say it's Y3000 for a blow job, they're lying. How he came about this knowledge, I did not ask. Chinese, Japanese, dirty knees, what are these?
Jambo 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2012 Gone went and go the casino security job I had 2 interviews for last week. Life is now good, and I move up on Wednesday and start that night doing the reverse Dolly Parton shift. Yay.
johnnyboy 1,201 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 I'm at the point where I've mentally left. The last couple of times I've been talked out of leaving, but now it's just a matter of time until I find something else. How do you convince a prospective employer that you're happy and willing to take a hefty paycut?

johnnyboy 1,201 Report post Posted December 1, 2012 "New Challenge" Â Like it. It's not even a lie either, which is a plus.
SiMania 4 Report post Posted December 4, 2012 Just be honest with prospective employer. Say you're willing to work for less money for the right job. You work in a similar field to me. If you said that to me in an interview and you were already in a job then it'd come across fine to me.
johnnyboy 1,201 Report post Posted December 4, 2012 I'm concerned it's putting people off at the application stage as most require my salary grade. If I don't get interviews from one of the next pair then I might start to worry.
SpursRiot2012 396 Report post Posted December 5, 2012 Do you guys think it looks bad to apply for a new job when you've only been in your current job a few months? My current job is fine and everything but I'm earning way less than I was at even ages 19 or 20 and I really need to be increasing my salary as much as possible in the next five years. Chest Rockwell 4,047 Report post Posted December 5, 2012 Exactly as the others have said johnnyboy.. I've just been in the exact same situation and have accepted a new job at a significantly lower salary because the work is really interesting. I did get questions, but it was OK. If you're going through agents it might be best to have that discussion with them even if they haven't brought it up with you as they can then give some assurance to the clients. Â And yes jobber, if it's a permanent job that does look bad.
Nostalgia Nonce 546 Report post Posted December 5, 2012 I've been at my current job for four days and I'm already looking elsewhere. Â Not because of money reasons, but because the hours are shit, and it's the worst run office I've ever been in.
HWM 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2012 For any of you who are unsure what to do for a job, unhappy with current career etc...have a go at this. Â It's a personality test which then comes up with some suggested jobs. Â Would be good to see what it comes up with and whether you agree with it. SpursRiot2012 396 Report post Posted December 5, 2012 And yes jobber, if it's a permanent job that does look bad. Â I guess technically it's permanent. I am on continual 3 month contracts that get renewed. But they have the exact right amount of staff they need. They can't do the shifts with any less. The only reason I don't have an actual permanent contract is because they just got bought out by some massive company and so all that shit is being sorted.
