I don't think anyone in here is against GoldenEye, are they? That loser reviewer for The Guardian didn't like it, though.

Glad to see you're ignoring @Loki's post on it earlier.

Do we think they will ever have a woman play Bond, I think Emilia Clarke would be a good choice if they went that way.

Why would they?

I'd love to see them introduce the new James Bond in the "end-credits" scene that most films these days *must* do. Would mean Daniel Craig would have to "die" or "retire" being James Bond and him to reveal that it's just a name. Idris Elba would make a tremendous Bond.

Where does "Never Say Never Again" fit in everybodys list? I'd say it's miles better than "Octopussy" anyway, which came out the same time.

I still think it's mad Connery was younger than Moore when that film came out, for some reason.

It doesn't count and even if did it's nowhere near as good as Octopussy.

Yes.  It is a film with a  character called James Bond in.  It is not a Bond Franchise film.  It is no more a Bond film than Niven's Casino Royale is.

Read up on Kevin McClory @bAzTNM#1, it's an interesting story involving Thunderball.  The waters are a bit muddied now due to the rights resting with MGM, but Never Say Never Again was not an Eon production.

Goldeneye is great. Any of the doubters in here care to expand on why they don't like it?

I don't hate it, but I just found it a bit underwhelming. A lot of the action scenes are too short and resolved too easily so not enough tension/drama is built up.

Fuck no! Not due to any sexist reasons, but Emilia Clarke is a fucking terrible actress.James Bond is supposed to be a charming rogue and Clarke is like an emotionless automaton.

Because those Bond films would be absolutely compelling if he was a faultless human being. I don't get why she's talking about him like he's not a fictional character here.
