At this moment there is still nothing on the ESPN planner except a repeat of TUF. God I hate this deal with ESPN, it just comes across completely amateurish all these last minute changes.

ESPN have said they're showing this event, though not until the day after for some reason - it's gonna be free to watch live on UFC.tv for us though.

ESPN are also showing the UFC on FUEL 3 (Poirier vs. Korean Zombie) on May 15th, though that will be shown live.

I'll watch on ufc.tv probably. That way I can watch it all live and the prelims will probably be on there for us aswell seeing as they're on FUEL.

Dana's confirmed that if Nate wins he's getting the winner of Henderson/Edgar 2. Dunno what happens there if Edgar wins cos Diaz has said in the past he doesn't really wanna fight Frankie with their Gracie ties (Diaz with Cesar and Frankie with Renzo). They'd probably put that aside for a title though.

Jim Miller would be one or two fights away from a title shot with a win over Diaz, Dana said.

MMAMania is reporting that Dana's also saying Johny Hendricks might get the title shot at 170 if he beats Koscheck. I doubt that will happen. You've gotta think Ellenberger's higher up than him. So there's the GSP, Condit, Ellenberger stuff to sort out, not to mention wherever Nick Diaz fits in when his suspension ends. Hendricks should be close but he'll need at least one more win I reckon.

--Some notes from today's UFC press conference:

1) A reporter told Dana White that the last FOX main event (Phil Davis vs. Rashad Evans) sucked. It wasn't that good, but the guy was a douche the way he said it.

2) Josh Koscheck said that he would rather people boo the hell out of him than have crickets chirp, because if crickets chirp and he wouldn't have a job. He said, "Keep booing me, please." People responded by booing him. He said he was putting Johny Hendricks to sleep and when the fight was over, everyone would be cheering for him.

3) Another reporter said to Nate Diaz, we know you hate reporters and you hate press conferences, how miserable are you right now? The guy got the wrong brother, nobody ever has any troubles or problems with Nate. Nate responded, "I don't hate the media. I think you guys are doing great." I hope nobody thinks I'm out there enjoying juggling knives on a unicycle.

4) Tapout will donate $10 for every Jim Miller shirt sold to the Daniel James Miller Foundation, which is raising money for the huge medical bills his young nephew has.

5) A fan asked Dana White if he could do a ring entrance with a fighter on Saturday. White said it was up to the fighters. Miller than immediately said the guy could come out with him.

6) Dana White talked about arranging a closed circuit viewing party in Las Vegas on 7/7 for those who can't get tickets to the live show. The thing is, because those tickets are so expensive, I'm not sure they'll sell out so quickly that closed-circuit is needed, although casinos are expected to buy up a lot of the tickets. As noted in this week's Observer, they are expecting the second biggest gate in history for 7/7.

7) White also hinted at a huge show in January. He said if everything goes right (meaning the right fight), he said it could be Las Vegas, Cowboys Stadium or Rogers Centre. The only fight I can think of at that level would be something like Jon Jones vs. Anderson Silva or GSP vs. Nick Diaz.

8) Regarding going head-to-head with boxing, he said, "I think we both benefit. We've seen in numbers in the past, everybody works hard all week. We've got Friday night and Saturday night. We've got stuff to do with kids, take girls out on those two nights. Saturday, you can watch free fights on FOX, then watch Mayweather. More guys will stay home. Every time we do these FOX cards (on the same night as a big boxing show), we'll do these fights and then I'll watch the boxing. I'll switch to Mayweather-Cotto right after."

--The negative is that they are getting very little media past the MMA media, because any major mainstream sports media is only going to push one fight, and it's the Mayweather fight.

Interesting points. Really like Jim Miller.

I doubt I'll be staying up to watch this, or if I'll even be in, so it'll be a download Sunday morning for me. I can't be fucked waiting until late Sunday evening to watch it.

The card is pretty underwhelming and i think its a bad idea to do it the same night as a big boxing event. It feels like the UFC are the prelims before boxing. The main focus will be on boxing that evening. Shame, the FOX shows arnt as big as i would like them to be.

I think the card is pretty decent and will serve up some good fights, Fox or not, this is a free show, plus the last Fox show they did, which despite having a number of decent names, wasn't a particularly good show to watch in terms of fight quality. As UFC fans, we know that big names don't always mean awesome fights, and putting some guys on the card who are likely to be in an entertaining fight, will mean more to someone watching for the first time and probably want to make them watch again.

As for the Boxing stuff, It kinda makes sense they put the show on the same night. The UFC show leads nicely into the PPV that fight fans will likely have bought already. Dana has brought this up a few times, so they must think the numbers they get from doing this are decent.

To be fair, the UFC could put in the best card of the year and it still wouldn't outshine Money Mayweather. Anyway's who cares? If your a fan of both, this weekend is fucking amazing. Add in Bellator and the MFC show and you've got a stupidly stacked weekend, i'm excited.

Are you serious? A top class evening with multiple UFC fights easily beats Mayweather shoulder roll his way to a win over someone else who isn't named Manny Pacquiao.

I think he means "outshine" with media attention, what people are talking about and the spectacle of it all. Now what is more exciting.

As popular as the UFC is, Mayweather will be the name most in the combat world will be talking about this weekend. I personally are looking forward to both.

Yeah I love these big MMA/Boxing nights. As a fan of both sports it's the best of both, you get the starpower and big fight feel of the Floyd fight and a really exciting looking bunch of fights on the UFC/Bellator shows.

The UFC play this smart I reckon by putting a free card on the same night before the big boxing matches. Dana himself and even Bob Arum have admitted that on nights they're both on they both do pretty good numbers so I don't think this FOX card should be looked at as competing with Floyd/Cotto. There's always gonna be nights where the two sports overlap but I think this is the best way to do it.

Better than that time they put a UFC PPV (103 with Belfort vs Franklin) up against Floyd vs Marquez and the UFC PPV did pretty shit from what I remember. Flip that around, if the recent Rios/Abril boxing PPV went up against say, a GSP/Diaz UFC PPV then no doubt the UFC would do better numbers. There is seperate fans of both but there is undeniably a crossover and they don't wanna lose potential viewers by making them choose so this is kind of a balance which works for everyone.

I don't think this FOX card is weak at all personally. All 4 main card fights have potential to be excellent. They're always gonna save their biggest fights for PPV so you can't expect them to give Silva vs Sonnen level fights to the Yanks for free on FOX.
