Moderators Astro Hollywood Posted October 10, 2013 Moderators Share Posted October 10, 2013 Eli Collins documentary  Jesus, that was depressing.  Also, "The wrestlers aren't the stars, the fans are" says man covered in badges making a scene in the front row at every show he's ever attended. Moderators neil Posted October 11, 2013 Moderators Share Posted October 11, 2013 Wrestling really is a magnet for mongoloids.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted October 11, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted October 11, 2013 Someone is obviously bullshitting Eli when it comes to how he got his nickname. He seems to have been convinced its "Mad" as in Brian Pillman/CM Punk/Pipe Bomb and all that. As opposed to mentally ill. Who the fuck puts WrestleMania XI in the cooker? TheShowOff
Thought that might be the case when I saw this thread bumped. RIP
Tom Lancaster
Such a shame. We were just talking about Eli at AWW last Sunday. Â As well as being an animated fan at the front of shows, Eli did much more than most people know towards British Wrestling. Â The industry will miss him. The_Gangsters_JockStrap
As a fan he will be missed  but for all the other bits he certainly won't be.  Its just a shame that for all the good he did as a fan he more than undid in spades with his tom foolery promoting.  Still Rip the mad old fucker
Paid Members Linus Posted October 3, 2014 Paid Members Share Posted October 3, 2014 Like most people who ever went to wrestling shows in the south west, Mad Eli was one of those "characters" who could be annoying as a fan but was lovely as a bloke. I did get to routinely abuse him, even telling him to "hurry up and die, old man", which was a help getting over as a heel in front of unfamiliar crowds. Like most of us, he was no doubt a bit odd, but I'm glad I knew him.
AshC
Saw him referred to as an "institution" on Twitter - and I think that hits the nail on the head . You always knew an eventful night was on the cards when Eli showed up. A proper character. My sincere condolences to those who knew him well.
