The results went into the first post on Monday night and the table was updated early the following morning. It was obviously a high-scoring week, but if anything probably slightly better overall than you'd expect from a double round. Connection problems cost steve a potential extra 21 points, causing him to drop back into danger of finishing last, while ultimo was the next lowest scorer after missing the same matches for no good reason. Of those who picked all 20 fixtures on time, hbk4life and cheetah were joint worst this time out with 8 points each. The latter dramatically bet the wrong way on his D2D, a late equaliser that the visitors had scarcely deserved costing him 9 points and gifting 3 or 5 to each of the 4 who correctly disagreed with him against the odds and the season's form book.

Interesting times at both ends of the standings as we have a change at the top yet again, with stunstone re-overtaking snowman dave by drawing level on points and having guessed more exact scores. The new leader was one of 3 participants on 18 points, but their performance was eclipsed by tom, who pulled a great performance out of the bag at just the right time. His 23 points close the gap at the bottom, but only to 9 points as El Espanacas' 17-point haul can hardly be called a stinker. Some movement in the middle too, but it's not really significant at this late stage.

In the first half of the card, there was a dud scoreline as Wrexham blew their automatic promotion hopes with a surprise defeat at the Racecourse. Turns out Alfreton had been on a run of away wins before that match, so a home victory shouldn't have been taken for granted as much as it was. In the same division, Stockport easing their fears of a third successive relegation by beating Lincoln (who came down with them last year) was expected, but nobody foresaw such a wide margin of victory. Two more triumphs on the road in the league above, of which Swindon's was seen as more inevitable beforehand. In the third tier, Scunny were rightly adjudged to be marginally superior to fellow strugglers Exeter by most pickers, and Orient's continued collapse against playoff-chasing Notts County proved fruitful too. The stalemate in the early start at the Stadium of Light was not so useful, unlike the Mags' carrying on with their purple patch at the off-colour Swans. Reading edging out Leeds was also popular.

As for the second set of 10, not as many players plumped for a home win in the crucial relegation battle at Ashton Gate as I'd have liked, but the other Championship match ending as a six-goal thriller ensured it was useless for three-pointers. Chesterfield earning themselves a stay of execution against the equally doomed Chairboys was always probable, but again four goals without reply was a less than helpful scoreline. The goalless draw at Victoria Park wasn't much better. Two goals were shared at both Craven Cottage and Easter Road, neither without success for people here even though the away side in each case was supposed to be chasing a Champions League place. The fourth level of the English system was the proverbial mixed bag on the second of the weekend's Bank Holidays, while the previous day Arsenal effectively ending City's title challenge appeared depressingly probable, although FPLers generally thought there would be more goals in the match. Judging by the highlights, there could well have been, so fair enough.

Well done if you got through all that. The important thing is that all D2Ds are over now. A normal card will be up in a new thread shortly, including a return to games from abroad and... a poll! WTF?
