Paid Members Egg Shen Posted February 13, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted February 13, 2012 I think your spot on about Broughton, hes a nightmare opponent for anyone cause he makes everyone look bad, hes got that slow, labouring style, he's durable and hes real good and dragging people into long, gruelling fight. Broughton fights never pretty.
jimufctna24
well he's best known so far for wearing Mirko Crocop tights. He looked kinda decent against Joey Beltran if i remember correctly. According to wikipedia he's a former division 1 wrestler and golden gloves boxer, and his idol is Mirko so i'd say he's got a fairly well rounded game. He's fighting a guy who's apparently one of the best jiu jitsu (which is the one discipline Miocic doesn't appear versed in) guys at heavyweight so it'll be an interesting fight Thanks  If he is decent he should win, De Fries was lacklustre agaisnt Broughton who is not UFC calibre in my opinion.  Miocic is a very bright prospect.  I think you're being very harsh about De Fries there, Broughton is one of the most awkward people you could wish to fight - it's hard for anyone to look impressive against him due to his ugly grappling style and him being so massive. Plus that fight got changed at 2 weeks notice when Phil was originally due to fight Oli Thompson (a striker).  Atleast in this fight De Fries will have the size and strength advantage over Miocic. But I still can't call the winner of this, would love to see Phil win but its going to be a tough fight. Maybe, Travis Browne did not look exactly great against him so you could be right.  Still I don not think Broughton will be employed by the UFC come this time next year. De Fries? We will see, I would like England to have a new star so I will be rooting for him, plus the Heavyweight scene is always in need of decent prospects as it is usually less stacked than most divisions. jimufctna24
No, he is still employed apperently  Gonzaga stood in for him on the last Brazil card when Broughton got injured in training. Even though he lost two in a row, Dana will always take it easy on fighters who step in on short notice like Broughton did at UFC 138, so that is probably why. METAL ON METAL
what the hell happened to Dave??! Â He told Ariel Helwani that he dyed his hair black - ALL of his body hair, literally his whole body. Â Its part of his new persona. Sadly he is no longer Dave 'Pee-wee' Herman, he is now Dave 'Sasquatch' Herman.
