Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted January 16, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2012 I wasn't mocking you personally at all. You've been here for nearly 9 years so the chances of you seeing better days are probably quite high. My point is that there is that element on almost every forum and quite often it is nonsense. Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted January 16, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2012 Tiger Rick definitely needs to be repackaged. Maybe a new avatar and username would get him selling those Hull shirts from the gimmick table like his 2006 prime.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 16, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) One things for sure, there's no point moaning about it, it is what it is. And there's no Dan Fitch or Anal Hill these days so that's a plus.  And I'm not changing my username. Anyone who does is a cunt  Anyone who swaps a name in tribute to the greatest pro-wrestler ever for a terrible Barbarian pun is a bigger cunt ;) Edited January 16, 2012 by tiger_rick

Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 16, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2012 And you shit on people who used to love ROH but then Punk and Danielson are two of the most high profile wrestlers in the World right now and AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Paul London all went on to do really well for themselves in WWE/TNA so surely they must have been decent. I don't like the Indy stuff much myself but ROH was always a cut above.I haven't shit on people that used to love ROH, I used to love ROH for christ sake! As I put in my last post, I wasn't enjoying WWE back then and to be honest I was into ROH and FWA mostly. But despite my tastes even I could see the sheer snobbery from the indy fans back then. You had the RIM guys, who would oppose the (now known as) Frappers, but generally it was more pretentious and elitist in favour of indy wrestling. Why on Earth your rambling on about Punk and Danielson being high profile is beyond me, because there isn't even an argument relating to that in the slightest.Me: "Years ago, indy fans turned their noses up at WWE fans"You: "Look how well Punk & Danielson have done"Me:
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 16, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2012 I've taken that a bit wrong then, you haven't written it very well either. Which period are you talking about? You signed up in 2006 which was a cracking time for the forum. Guys like supremo, moj, jlm, mo, seven, Leicester lantern, majik, purplemonkey, etc. All watched WWE, not many banged on about ROH, if any. It's never been a problem to be a WWE fan on here. The anti-smark's have always been the far more aggressive and tiresome bunch. Even back then. Â None of this matters now of course, things moving along quite nicely. Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 16, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 16, 2012 I've been about since 02/03, and used to come on here a LOT more back then- until 2005 probably when I stopped reading the forum for a while. The Leicester trio (Lantern, Freaky, Stew IIRC) were always a sound bunch of lads, Moj could be quite funny but equally a bit of a cunt (and incredibly pretentious, I remember the Drew McDonald/Robbie Brookside rants), Supremo I can't remember much about other than his Superman avatar, Mo has always been up his own arse, I don't remember Seven being around back then etc. But you still had a massive elitist bunch which, as per my original point, was a lot more in force and prominent back then than nowadays. Â One thing that I do remember fondly from back then was the strong following for FWA, unfortunately it became it's own worst enemy.

Certainly agree with you there, I really miss the pre and post event discussions that used to go on in the FWA section of the forum, the hype for American stars coming over and the dissection of the early FWA:TV videos. Paid Members Dearly Devoted Dexter Posted January 17, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2012 You know Dearly Devoted Dexter? Well when I first came on here, everyone was like that  Dear oh dear, I seem to have become a bit of a straw man for all that's bad with the UKFF. I might take this opportunity to clarify something - I'm not sure where the idea came from that I HATE everything that's not indie wrestling. Granted, I don't watch much WWE these days because I don't like the product; but like most people on the forum, I grew up watching the old WWF, and have acres of fond memories from that period. One of the things that always annoyed me when I used to watch IWA Mid-South was those stupid "Operation Exterminate Vince" t-shirts they used to sell. Rotten didn't seem to realise that when WWF/E is in a boom period, wrestling at every level benefits. When WWE is on its arse on the other hand, wrestling as a whole suffers. Regardless of what you think of the current WWE product, I have to put Vince over on the grounds if not for him, I don't think I would have got into wrestling period. That said, I'm always willing to take a pop at TNA or Nash/ Cena, because, quite frankly they deserve it. But although I don't have much time for WWE these days, I don't think that it should die/ fuck off etc. As Cornette always says - chocolate and vanilla; there's room for both flavours

And quite frankly, these days I wouldn't pay heed to anything Jim Cornette says. If you aren't all you're accused of, how come you never reply when you are challenged with intelligent arguments and legitimate in threads after you make a shite incendiary remark instead choosing to pull a Dynamite Duane? Would things like that be "all that's bad with the UKFF"? Or would it be the UKFF's new Ad Hominem, and would it be a "strawman"? I think you know the truth there.
