scott_2k16
I'm sure Nunzio should be appearing on at least one of either "shortest stint" or "nearly made it to the ring"... I've only got him having entered once: Â 2004: Nunzio (23) (03:48) Â If someone nicked his place, that wouldn't be in my database, only no-shows. Â Â Yeah, I am sure your database is more reliable than my memory, and Google agrees. Annoying though, because I was sure that I could remember him making his way down to the ring and getting taken out before he even got there. Â Would be interesting to see all surprise entrants in each Rumble. Â I'd love to know that too
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 17, 2012 Author Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2012 Hard to quantify this one. a) because my memory is shit and b) because I don't know everyone who is advertised. this is my first go at it. Paid Members Up Chuck Posted January 17, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2012 Goldust and Mr Perfect were announced in advance in '02, as part of some video packages announcing returns. If you're still counting them, Godfather and Val Venis were part of that gimmick too.
Moderators PowerButchi Posted January 17, 2012 Moderators Share Posted January 17, 2012 Youngster Carlos Colon was in the 1993 rumble. I think I remember the Squat Team being announced before hand in a vignette as well.
The Dart
Mick Foley won a qualifying match for the 2008 Rumble, so that wasn't a surprise either.

Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 17, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 17, 2012 Just watched it, and I don't think Coach was a surprise. Neither Tazz nor JR were shocked. I think Bischoff might have entered him during the go-home Raw show.

The Dart
Surely if they are on the roster, it's not a surprise, just that they weren't announced.

Paid Members PunkStep Posted January 20, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted January 20, 2012 That last one is great to browse through. It's amazing that 24 of the entrants 5 years ago are not with WWE today, shows how must the roster has changed.
The Dart
That last one is great to browse through. It's amazing that 24 of the entrants 5 years ago are not with WWE today, shows how must the roster has changed.  I'd been thinking about a similar thing.  Out of the 2002 Royal Rumble:  20 are no longer with the company 2 are still on the WWE roster 1 is still on the roster but injured 4 are with the company but inactive (Undertaker, Goldust, Triple H, Booker T) 3 are dead   So, going by that it could be interesting to predict where this year's 30 will be in 10 year's time.
