The results went into the first post within an hour of close of play on Monday, and the table has been updated since early Tuesday morning. Scores were a little on the low side considering it was a double round, but that didn't stop smp finally overtaking sivy to be only the second frontrunner of the season. And he hasn't even had his D2D yet! There is now daylight between the top 7 and the rest, while at the other end the bottom 5 seem to be getting cut adrift. The gap between the very last 2 places is back down to 1 point though.

For some reason ultimo didn't pick the first half of the card, which I didn't spot until I was totting up the scores, so he only managed 5 points. Of those who bet on all 20 matches, cheetah was lowest scorer with only one more point than ultimo so he also gets a mention. Top scorer honours to The Ratt whose 15 points move him up to lower mid-table. The name change for joe mills is acknowledged, but not the way in which neil intended. Please, if he's ever in a name-changing mood during the season again, don't be tempted to post else you'll be DQed from this immediately. Yup, that's a new rule as of now. Of course, sometimes we get sensible changes such as the shortening of one ex-champion's name to TUFCfan. But he took a risk in even asking for that and could've ended up with something inappropriate, like Haraga who is not known as DomDom due to arbitrary modding. So if you're going to try to get your account name altered and want to play the FPL, look for one of those threads between May and August from now on.

All right, let's whizz through the unhelpful results then. Away wins for Villa, Gateshead (strangely considering their form and Darlo's plight) and Forest caught a lot of people out, along with Boro and Southend's failure to win at home to struggling opposition. Victories for Oldham, Grimsby, Stoke, Cardiff, Bury and Celtic across the long weekend proved fruitful for most, whilst the rest, including the Edinburgh derby, was a bit of a mixed bag. Of note: no-one got an exact score from the game at the Mem, but it turned out to be Paul Buckle's last fixture in charge of the scum. Let's hope his successor carries on his good work!

Thanks to more tyrannical mod decisions, it looks like one or two regular participants may miss next week after live discussing Raw last night. Which is too bad, as it's not a clever round to skip. There's still no D2D, but there are even more points up for grabs from ordinary matches than there were in this double round.
