King Pitcos
"Is there a market for a novel set in the world of Pro Wrestling?" Yes. That market is pro wrestling fans. Not true at all. People buy wrestling books for backstage gossip and the life stories of their favourites. A novel about fictional characters aimed at wrestling fans wouldn't do well at all. The market for such a book is people who want to read a good book (and this, as others have said, depends on it being good) and aren't put off by it being set in the world of pro wrestling. As someone mentioned above, it'd be a very difficult sell for a writer unless they've got a track record and a bit of a fanbase.
Paid Members JNLister Posted December 25, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted December 25, 2011 Just remembered my mum read a mainstream crime novel set around wrestling: Â http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wearing-Purple-Oz-...8996&sr=1-1 Â I glanced at it, but it didn't seem like the writer had done much research into the wrestling side of it.
