Allstar69
I can't imagine this clip - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TPtM5nvNtc looking good if put against her either. it stupid if that is shown in court wrestling is a entertainment show no one is forced into it. They get paid for it have to agree with whats going to happen and to me every shot by Austin and Triple H was worked. I would worry if someone actually thought that was real its common sense does that guy get up in arms about other tv programmes with domestic abuse and the like in it
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted June 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) The McMahon's are responsible for content. Nobody on TV is forced into anything, but that doesn't mean they should ask them to do it. The original argument from WWF bashers was that the WWF promotes violence towards women and other deviant acts on their TV show. So WWF is always ultimately to blame for what goes out on their television, whoever agrees to it. Â A Serbian Movie and Slow Torture Puke Chamber isn't real either, but its not the actors who get the blame for the bad press it gets. Its the makers. Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted June 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Its an extremely offensive clip to the mass public. Its very shocking. Its two very large men beating up a small woman for a few minutes and using a steel folding chair to do so. What normal person (i.e. not a wrestling fan) would find that anything other than offensive. If the argument is "WWE made its money as a glorified violent/porn/exploitation show", you would be hoping they didn't show a clip in court of two contracted wrestlers beating up a woman on a WWE promoted television show. These wrestlers are actors. It doesn't fall on their head and nor should it. Â That clip is actually the first time I've seen it properly. Sky Sports zoomed in on Austin's face as this was going on. So they obviously didn't like the idea of it. Edited June 4, 2012 by The_BarbarIAN

Ive seen it before and maybe cos im so use to wrestling I dont see whats wrong with it in the context of a wrestling show but i can see from a casual viewers pov it might be a bit much to take. Moderators PowerButchi Posted June 4, 2012 Moderators Share Posted June 4, 2012 Even in the context of a wrestling show it promotes domestic violence. What comeuppance did The Power Trip receive? None. It was a stupid angle, and the kind of thing wrestling shouldn't have and doesn't need. Ditto the Trish Stratus bark like a dog stuff. The Attitude stuff gets worse with every revisit. I prefer to think that it was the arse end of the era that was this bad, and that 98-99 were untouchable.
Winston
Good news - CM Punk says a new WWE Title has been created and it's meant to be making it's debut soon. Â Bad news - He says it's not much better than the current monstrosity.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted June 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) That's a good thing for the supposed company figurehead to say. "The belts shite, but the new one is worse". Â As far as the new belt goes, I'd have Ric Flair introduce the new heavyweight title on the first ever three hour Raw. Vamp
I don't really understand how Punk is so high up the card. Aside from the fact he's supposedly turning viewers off he also seems to be a complete tit.
Winston
He also said this in the same interview.  During a Q&A session Saturday at the Wizard World Comic Con in Philadelphia, WWE champion C.M. Punk addressed WWE's thin talent roster and lack of top stars to help carry the load. Punk also joked about the number of wrestlers currently suspended. "I was home Thursday. And, before that, two weeks ago, I was home for 22 hours. It's not healthy - I need to go home and hibernate, I know I really do. A lot of people go, 'You look really tired today.' Thanks," he said to laughs. "Downtime doesn't exist. There's two guys and the talent pool has never been thinner. How many guys are suspended right now? (laughs) Yeah, they're wearing us out, but we can handle it - it's me and Cena. We need more guys, but I like to be outside (on the road)."  "I email people that you people don't know exist and I bother them constantly about this damn thing. There is a new title. I've seen it. I'll probably get in trouble for saying it, but I don't think it's any better than the current one." Punk re-assessed and said, "It's better than this. They literally just made it. It's about 20 pounds heavier than this one. I keep preaching that I want to be the guy - if I'm not the guy who doesn't produce a new title, then I'll be a liar, and I don't want to be a liar. It's out there, and it's coming soon. Probably a lot sooner than the ice cream bars. Edited June 4, 2012 by Winston
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted June 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) I guess part of what appeals to people is the fact that he's a bit of a dick. He's the anti-Cena, basically. He even refers to himself on his Twitter bio as a 'loveable jerk'. Obviously the 'loveable' part is debatable. Punk polarises opinion in a similar manner to Cena. I guess as long as Cena is still around as the true company figurehead then Punk can continue to be who he is. Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted June 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Punk has summed it up by saying Cena is Superman and Punk is Batman. Granted, Batman wipes his arse with a 2.9. Â Credit to WWE for persevering with Punk. Although that also has a lot to do with them having nobody else to fill his spot. They should have changed the title last Summer though, daft it's taken them this long. The title doesn't even fit with what Cena is doing too. Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted June 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) I don't buy that at all. There's being a dick where you slag off a television character who you are feuding with and then there's going out in a public setting to a comic con (where its a bunch of fans who are paying money to get in and therefor probably wouldn't be against buying whatever the WWE is selling) that the new title belt is shit and that the talent roster is thin. Most wrestlers are dicks behind closed doors, but in the public eye you should be presenting yourself as a superstar who is proud to represent the belt. Its baffling that he thinks any good can come out of saying that the WWE belt is shit and that the roster is lacking in talent. No other television show on earth would allow their stars to bury important aspects of the show. Â This is one of the reasons why the ratings and PPV buys are down, and why there is no talent roster. How many times in the last year have we heard the lead announcer or the WWE champion or someone else bury the talent either publically or on TV? The wrestling audience has always been impressionable. If Gorilla Monsoon told me "he's not kicking out of that" (like he ALWAYS did) I believed him. I used to believe everything that a credible voice told me, because they were the voice of the product. They need to just stop treating the belt and the wrestlers as run of the mill shit. At least tell people they are superstars, even if they aren't. Â Someone should have asked the WWE Champion, CM Punk - if the roster is so shit, is that why he's currently the champion? If your opponents are low on talent, then you aren't much of a champion in the pretend world of wrestling. Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted June 4, 2012 Paid Members Share Posted June 4, 2012 Just to be clear, when I said that being a bit of a cock is perhaps part of Punk's appeal, I should have stressed that it isn't something that appeals to me. I'm with Ian on this one. CM Punk's perhaps the guy I dislike most in the whole company, because of stunts like this.
