A quick Google only reiterates what has already been said - a game is expected 2020-2021, by Syn Sophia as a "spiritual successor" to No Mercy. Obviously this ticks a lot of fanboy boxes, and six months ago, I'd have been pretty hyped for it, but now I think they need another season to get the hubris out of their system. Based on what's been allowed on TV, I can only imagine one of two different extremes for how the game would turn out - an undercooked Impact reskin rush job, or an overindulgent Fire Pro knockoff. I'd imagine a video game deal right now would be sought out by AEW rather than a developer, so it'd be produced to AEW's spec, and I can't see Kenny Omega, who I perceive to be their main face in that market, allowing himself or his mates to be underpowered to balance the game roster. "Hey Kenny, we've dialed down your strength so you have to last long enough to taunt between every move to power it up, like in your matches?" "Er, yeah, that's cool and all, but how we don't do that, and instead give everyone three free finishers at the start of every match?" If they're using No Mercy as a template, they'll need to speed it up to match AEW's in-ring. No Mercy's a-move-from-everywhere moveset style might also get unwieldy, although the designation of weight classes would be a cool dynamic.
