In other words, they're going to utilise the death of a much-loved announcer to engineer the television return of an unapologetic racist whilst limiting the negative reactions because it's a tribute, brother. Or, they were friends for 35 years and it makes sense. Not everything is a war against wwe.

kidzero
Yeah loved hulk as a kid but I don't think they should bring him back for raw for the mean Gene tribute if anything he could have done a 20 second Vid saying goodbye to his friend keep it small and simple

Guest
No one would be booing Hulk in a raw crowd, he will get the Pavlovian “thank you Hulk” chants and all the desired responses
Paid Members Kaz Hayashi Posted January 5, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted January 5, 2019 I think it's fair to say that Gene & Hogan are almost family in wrestling terms, it's not a shock that he wants to say goodbye in front of a live crowd, on TV with a scripted promo. This also happens to be the absolute perfect time to bring the daft racist back. This is exactly the time to do it, if you're going to do it. DavidB6937
I'm torn. It's a pretty shit thing to do timing wise and does feel a little like taking advantage of the situation BUT there's no argument against Hogan's importance in history and in Mean Gene's career. Probably could have just done a taped thing or something though.
Paid Members garynysmon Posted January 5, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted January 5, 2019 (edited) Seems a bit desperate tbh. Bringing Vince back and then this after tanking ratings? Hmmm. Edited January 5, 2019 by garynysmon

Snitsky's back acne
Where's Raw from this week? Is it Florida? If it is they aren't booing Hulk.

Keith Houchen
Mean Gene is in the WWE Hall Of Fame, it makes sense to have the person who inducted him involved in the tribute.

You can know exactly what wrestling is and still accept that there might be a bit of legitimacy to man saying goodbye to one if his best friends of 35 years that died. It can be both. More that if they were insistent on using Hulk in some way, rather than that just being all they did for Gene.
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted January 6, 2019 Paid Members Share Posted January 6, 2019 Hogan's aready been back. It's already been news and been "trending worldwide". If they wanted/needed to bring him back for anything, they would have. He's coming back because him and Gene are intrinsically linked.
