The final scores and the updated table have both been in their place since Sunday. Remarkably little movement in the top half this week, as sivy bucked the recent trend to extend his lead over smp by a point. At the other end their was quite a bit of shuffling around despite the low scoring, including a change at the very bottom with joe mills overtaking tom, again by a single point. Two participants only managed 2 points apiece while brownie was unlucky to stay in the bottom half despite being the only player in double figures this time out.

Most people thought at least one of the favourites in the Cup matches would have a tough time, which means everyone took at least a point from those games. However few rightly foresaw that the Shots would be held at York Street, 140 years after it hosted one of the original 4 ties in the same competition. Honourable mention to vanhalen, the only person to get the exact score from the Alfreton fixture. Two late Sam Voakes goals ended any chance of three-pointers from the Welsh win, while the unexpectedly wide margin of victory for both Croatia and Ireland on their travels caused the same problem.

England's narrow triumph over the world champions at Wembley was also something of a surprise, but the stalemate in Sarajevo (or wherever) and the Czechs' late surge against the Montenegrins proved more fruitful in the play-offs, as did Scotland's success in the Cypriot friendly. I got the kick-off time for that wrong: must've checked weeks in advance at FIFA's site - instead of looking on the Beeb nearer the time - who would've given it as 8pm local time, which is of course 2 hours ahead of the UK. Luckily everyone got their picks in before 6 on Friday so it didn't matter. Closer to home, Macclesfield's stroll at East Thurrock was switched to 2pm at very short notice.

New thread coming up in a few minutes and it's club footie all the way from now on. Scottish games take up their fair share of the card but unusually, it's a Welsh fixture that will provide our next D2D.
