Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted November 7, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 7, 2011 Try the usual suspects like Maplin, PC World, Argos, etc. I'd imagine prices may go up slightly due to Christmas approaching.
Paid Members Halitosis Romantic Posted November 7, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 7, 2011 Have you tried Bum-tree? I heard that they were reliable.

King Pitcos
Cheers Wretch! Reserved one. Â matbro, that one in your link was the one I mentioned in the first post. I need one for the end of next week, that Amazon one might not arrive by then.

The Total Package
How long have you had that segate? The reviews on amazon have quite a few people moaning about some clicking noise problem and then it messes up, Ive been looking for another hard drive myself, for some reason the one I bought (Western Digital 2TB) last year for 80quid is now 144quid I have no idea why prices have hiked, kind of pissed off about that.  Those people with the segate might just have shit luck though I dunno, you can read what they are saying here;  http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B0...erBy=addOneStar  Think I'm just going to wait to see if a Christmas deal pops up for a WD, thanks for the links though. cobystag
I had a 2TB Seagate and wouldn't recommend it as within 9 months I was getting the click of death. Â Bought a 1TB Western Digital to replace it.
Paid Members Wretch Posted November 7, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 7, 2011 Seriously? I've had mine for about half a year, you got me dreading hitting the nine month mark now.
cobystag
Yep. Was gutted about it so hurriedly bought my current HD from Amazon and then returned the Seagate to Argos for the money back after I'd moved the files over.
gaz2050
I've got the same one from ebuyer (check that site by the way, it's cheap) It's working fine so far but now I'm worried
The Total Package
Well atleast you both know about the click of death now, so if you do have any important files, you can back them up else where, burn to DVD perhaps or even get another HD, before the seagate dies on you, which looks like a random time bomb from reviews. Paid Members Au Posted November 8, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted November 8, 2011 Ive been looking for another hard drive myself, for some reason the one I bought (Western Digital 2TB) last year for 80quid is now 144quid I have no idea why prices have hiked, kind of pissed off about that. I posted a link yesterday but the increase in prices is because of the floods in Thailand. Â In any case, I bought what I'm guessing is the same Western Digital 2tb last year and it fucked up last month. Not entirely sure what happened to it but whilst my Xbox was still reading it fine, it wouldn't mount to either my iMac or MacBook so I've had to send it off for a replacement.
