Musicians, Bands etc

So this may very well die on it's arse but what the hell.

Any musicians, singers, dj's, bands etc on the forum? Would be cool to hear each others stuff, gain a few new fans or whatever. I'm sure there is a bunch of talent kicking about on the forum. Good place to plug gigs, merch etc aswell.

Feel free to reccomend mates stuff or people you think deserve to be heard if you don't have anything yourself.

I'll get the ball rolling with my band Cheyenne Plains.

We are a 4 piece metal band based in Aberdeen. Been on the go for about a year, played a few gigs here and there but due to some personal commitments in the last couple of months haven't been gigging too much recently. Should be back on the go soon.

We have a demo CD that we give out / flog at gigs and 4 demo tracks on our Facebook page. Looking to step into the studio next year to record an album hopefully but we will see.

We take influence from bands such as Metallica, Soundgarden, Down, Alice in Chains and Rag Against The Machine to name a few.

Looking forward to hearing other peoples tune-age!

I'm not a big fan of these threads, but I do enjoy threads where musicians discuss the creative process... We have one of those knocking about and I think I will have to re-up that soon as I've been making some tunes again and me and one of my buddies are having a beat battle using the same samples so it'll be nice to put it to the forum to see who they think wins..

yeah these threads can sort of be hit or miss with folks, found loads of decent bands and musicians through threads like this on other forums so sometimes it works.

Would be cool to here some of your tunes when your ready to share them dude.

Here's a song by a couple of mates who play in a band called Cancerous Womb. Catchy death metal which is pretty technical too and an absolute blast live. These guys need to be signed.

A band with some other mates called Monheim. Only a new band but they're certainly showing potential. They play some progressive thrash stuff. This is pretty poor quality from a recent live gig, but thought it was worth giving them some sort of shill.

Cancerous Womb are great.

I "play" in a D-Beat worship band named Lifelock. Our influences range from anything starting with "Dis" to anything ending in "Terror". We rehearse once literally every 5 months and nobody seems to care. We're woefully loose, but it is incredible fun to play. I sing, if you can call aping Lee Dorrian's vocals on Scum singing. We made a promise we would play at least one gig before splitting up and this is the dream. It will happen ONE DAY, I just don't see it happening very soon.

Yep, I'm another Cancerous Womb fan. Check out Pathosis, you might dig 'em.

Go on then, seeing as we've just had a smashing new video made for us...

Deranged eight-piece Lovecraft proudly strut around Liverpool like a gang of unruly psychic bullies, laughing and swearing at clothes shop assistants, internet cafe proprieters, boring people and butchers alike, letting nothing stand in their way as they peddle their murderdelic prog-pop hymns in the name of cosmic bliss.

Their music can sound like anything from 80's space pop about doomed telepathic love to squelchy freakouts about consensual cannibalism, but it is always catchy.

Debut album 'Whistle & I'll Come To You, My Lad' (out now on legendary label Probe Plus) sees them exploring every crevice of the musical stratosphere, channeling everything from The Stooges on 'One For The Furnace' to Jacques Brel on 'Baby Jeans', leading a wild Wicker Man style pagan procession through the forest on 'Vinegar Tom' and arriving at the haunting beauty of 'Little Bones', perhaps the sweetest song about infanticide ever written.

Some mock them, others weep with joy at having their dusty ears caressed by Lovecraft's electrifying sounds. On average, only the criminally insane and lonely elderly astronauts seem to understand Lovecraft, but don't worry - soon you will too.

If there are any musicians or bands in the rock, metal or blues genres that fancy having their music played on The Rock Show - www.therockshow.co.uk - sometime soon, please e-mail jim@therockshow.co.uk when you're ready.

It's the world's favourite rock & metal show
