Quick summary of how heists work:

Each heist has four or five set-up jobs and then the actual heist, totalling about three hours play.

One person (rank 12) is a heist leader.

Three other people work on the jobs. The heist leader can use the same three for the whole heist, or recruit different people for each set-up job/actual heist.

There's a payout for the crew members for each set-up job, but the leader gets nothing.

The actual heist has a big payout to the leader only, who then decides how (or if) to share it out.

Playing through heists unlocks access to several new modes for ordinary online play, including "players on motorbikes with shotguns fight players on foot with all the weapons" and "players on pushbikes try to escape players in trucks."

There's also going to be three new "challenges" a day spread out across various modes, the idea being that there'll always be something new to do.

I can't believe we've had to wait this long for Heists. Rockstar apparently have re-done them entirely, so there's no way they'll live upto the hype, but I'm down to play next week.

Hopefully we get a casino next

I want that and the dog/horse track to open up.

Gambling and having a bet on the horses sound like a fun addition and a good way to maybe make some cash.

What if your horse/dog is in second and you pull out a pistol and shoot the leader? So many possibilities

That would be outstanding.

Rockstar's got a big sale on PSN for the next couple of weeks for most of their games, with up to 80 percent off. We're talking GTA IV complete (including TLAD/TBOGT) for a fiver, and all the PS2 games (except San Andreas sadly) for a couple of quid. Canis Canim Edit (aka Bully) is £1.60!

Did my first heist last night: the Fleeca job. Don’t know if this falls into spoiler territory, but I liked the mechanics of having to drill into the safety deposit box. That’s a nice touch.

How's the payouts? Hoping to finally give heists a go when I'm off work.
