vanhalen2007
Im moving to Kent and will be visiting London a lot both for work and visiting, so I understand you have to get one of these Oyster cards to travel on the underground and buses and so forth, Ive tried reading tjhe wikipedia and TFL's webpages and its just full of gobblegook, can someone just give me the simple basics on how they work and what the best usage of a card would be. Â Sorry if this sounds like an idiot talking, Im just from the countryside and all this is new to me

Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted October 18, 2011 Moderators Share Posted October 18, 2011 It depends on how frequent and predictable your travel is. If it's regular then you want to put a monthly/weekly travel card on there. Otherwise just top it up pay as you go style as and when (still cheaper than buying normal tickets).. Paid Members Jaffa Posted October 18, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted October 18, 2011 Van, at any station you can go to one of several top up machines and it'll tell you your balance. Â What journey(s) will you be making?
