markyyboyy Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Im sure their are alot of you without cars, so how do you guys get to and from wrestling events? Whats the cheapest/best way? Ive been desperate to get out and see the uks best wrestlers for quite some time now, but find myself only able to get to pretty bad, very local shows.
Philo_Vance Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Public transport is generally lame if the shows are a good distance away so unless you wanna get a hotel you find yourself missing the end of the show. Best solution is find someone who drives and likes wrestling and give them petrol money! Is what I do, and have done from canterbury to Portsmouth, Coventry, Wolves etc and come back the same night.
markyyboyy Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 What are trains like? Is it possible to get back on them or don't they run at that time of night
Philo_Vance Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Depends where you're coming from or going to. For me living in Kent, to get anywhere vaguely far afield, i have to travel through London. Realistically from anywhere not in the south east, my last opportunity at a train back the same night is around 9 o clock. Factor in that not all wrestling shows are near mainline stations and driving is really the only option a lot of the time. More specifics though? Where you based and what companies are you interested in seeing?
markyyboyy Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 I live in nottighamshire and am interested in seeing quite a few promtions, mainly FUTURESHOCK in stockport, GPW in wigan and SOUTHSIDE in Cambridge and anything else that looks half decent!

markyyboyy Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 since ya live in nottingham go and watch HOP wrestling supposed to be a cracking little fed. I do go to their shows and their great but they only use their own wrestlers so i dont get to see alot of the guys ive been dying to see
House of Pain Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Glad you enjoy them mate. I can tell you now that I'm working closely with Southside for them to do regular shows in Nottingham as there isn't really any pro shows in the area. Â Other than that, maybe come down to the school and make some travelling buddy friends. Loads of the students go to other shows around. In fact I'm on my way back from NGW now with 3 of them.
