I would also like to say that, in addition to putting on the best show, I also think we should hype the best of wrestling when we can.

This forum is all hype for the best of BritWres. Unfortunately Ravenhills issue is with the shit arses taking and ruining the casual and family market which makes up 99% of BritWres shows.

I am a long time reader here, and obviously ... a first time poster.

This post has literally pushed me over the threshold of what i deem to be "taking the absolute piss".

Ravenhill , one question (this is entirely aimed at you actual)... who the "f" died and made you the police of wrestling promotions in Wales?

actual i have some more questions...

Do you realise that kids might be doing things with no real concept of what they are meant to be doing, not meaning to do anything except "wrestle" (or whatever they think wrestling is >.< ... im not arguing that they are probably shite as hell and green as grass) and do put on a wee show for their mates, or anyone who wants to go.

Really, you are lucky that in this day and age you found a kid who clearly doesn’t mean much harm, gets frightened by some random man giving him shit and making accusations of legality at him at random and all he does has went to his mum for advice ... the poor kid was probably bricking it thinking he was going to get arrested.

like i said, your lucky it was a somewhat submissive and scared kid as opposed to one of the more average 2011 kids who would pull a knife on you or shout his gang over to beat you silly.

You do realise that you actually have no idea of this kids credentials, what he has, what he is getting, what his experience is, who is helping him or anything really, as like every other monkey on UKFF you love to jump to conclusions so you can save British wrestling from "shitarses".

You do realise that randomly accusing people you don’t know of breaking the law , especially when you accost them on the street and bitch about them online is classed as Defamation and is a CRIME … which would lead to people calling the police on you in most cases!

how about instead of being a cunt to these small promotions ran by kids and trying to get them all shut down, you actually give them some positive feedback, offer to give advice, point them in the direction of good people to talk to and people to get more training from... theirs a whole lot of better options out their that’s actually more beneficial to wrestling in the UK than trying to get every promotion you don’t like shut down!

fact is, their will always be shit promotions, without something shit you cant have something good, and without something good you cant have anything which is great!

people ask what’s the problem with the British wrestling scene ... ill tell you the answer, its the fault of all the anally retentive jumped up pricks out their like you Ravenhill, who think they are doing good but really, their only doing what they think is good for their own benefit.

the term good is very much in the eye of the beholder ... one persons good is another persons nightmare and one persons gripe is not even a worth a second thought for most other people.

I know their are bad promotions out their, i have personally seen some footage from some absolutely horrendous promotions in the uk, but in most shitty promotions defence they really had no idea what they were doing and just doing it for their own amusement... i don’t think its necessarily good that their running shows, but is shutting every one down without a second thought the answer?? NO.!

If people want the British wrestling scene to go anywhere, drop the shitty internet warrior, lets shut them down attitude, and try being a bit more pro active!

Oh, and please realise your not the wrestling police!

IMO you are completely wrong.

Ravenhill is one of the top promoters in the UK who uses great talent, puts on shows that draw and look good. He's a credit to BritWres. The good promoters we have are the police, and should police their local areas. It's much easier to alienate a fan than it is to entice one, so he's spot on IMO.

again ... anally retentive!

what i was actualy meaning, and what you completly understand but feel the need to act the smart arse about is that one persons concept of what is "good " may be completly different to every other persons.

its a completly objective concept!

hell, i bet noone on UKFF can even agree between themselfs what "good" actually is!

Let's face facts, these 'chicken shits' (for want of a better term') are the disease of the wrestling business. (Emphasis upon the word 'business'). There are too many shitarse feds clogging up towns in Wales and something needs to be done to stop them. They are untrained, unsafe and unworthy of any sort of exposure in the wrestling business. Any potential wrestling fans in Wales avoid Carnage Pro Wrestling, Port Talbot Wrestling and Top Notch Wrestling at all costs. These guys are appalling. Case in point, PTWA 'trainer' Fenix attended training for a few sessions at Dragon Pro Academy a very professional and successful training school in Newport and could not manage a forward roll even after numerous attempts. The guy is deluded beyond belief and is in desperate need of a reality check. This is the kind of 'entertainment' he subjects the punters to

Programmes such as X Factor welcome the bewildered and un-talented, but these sort of people need to stay away from wrestling. They need to be educated both in ring and out because they can not see the harm they cause.

Rather than dwelling on the negative, I would advise aspiring wrestlers in Wales to learn their craft with Welsh Wrestling In Port Talbot, or Dragon Pro in Newport. I currently train at both facilities and can assure people that this is the correct way to learn. Trainers at both schools include Kade Callous, Chris Recall, Big Dog, Wild Boar, Mark Andrews and Mike Bird.

Murphys hand, I could not disagree with you more. Ravenhill is running a proper business, he is not only entitled but perfectly correct to be annoyed at every little shit that thinks he can play Vince McMahon and almost always failing. If you read his post correctly you'd notice that he didn't make accusations at all, he asked the guy what his credentials were. If there were more people like Ravenhill out there trying to put a stop to the shit then we'd probably be in a better position. Likewise if workers took a bit more pride in who they take a booking from some of these shows wouldn't even get off the ground.

British Wrestling has become far too much of an open house free for all and it's helping no one!

Of course we couldnt agree, I will be in a meeting at work with 3 other people tomorrow about a plan we need to put in place for something and we wont agree on that either, its human nature. Chill out about things, you seem to be overreacting completely. It was an admittedly naff attempt at humour to lighten the mood. Ravenhill is running a business and has morons affecting his livelihood, I can understand why he would be frustrated, most people can.

Im sorry to tell you but people are actualy free to do whatever the hell they want to and spend their money on whatever they want to waste it on, even if that is losing all their money on a really half arsed wrestling promotion then realising "fuck, i was really really bad at that" or retiring themselfs as they took one to many cheese grater shots and piledrivers through pasting tables.

Are you so short sited that you think the uk is the only place this happen, free enterprise that is! ... im afraid to inform you but kayfabe is not enforced as good as the old days, and anyone with enough money can buy a ring and put on shows and due to these facts every man and his gran have as much right to put on a wrestling show as much as mr ravenshill does... this is fact, not a very nice or good fact imo but a fact all the same.

i really wish things could be like the good old days, where the companys were all respectable ... oh......... wait ,as this has never been the case in any shape or form of business wether its wrestling, porn, dog food production or a local shop ... we will ALWAYS have shit companys and will always have half arsed businesses and will always have to deal with half arses wrestling shows.

the answer aint vigilante justice ... teh answer is for the promotions that are actualy good ... promote yourself properly in a way that shows the dumb public that you are different to and better than the "shitarses" . All it takes is hard work and some money , money which the "shitarses" will never have and in the small case they do have dont worry, as their going to spend it on stupid shite they dont need and end up being broke after a few shows with no customers!

@fye if all he has to deal with is retards trying to run shows against him ... then all he has to do is do what he is doing (as long as its actualy good) and bide his time, as the half assed non business savy types will be gone soon enough ...

money aint infinate!

Who said anything about vigilante justice? The guy is asking to know if these suspected shitarses have the required insurance, etc to run shows. There is nothing vigilante about that

again, sorry to state facts, but unless he has police / local authority powers then yes, it is in fact very vigilante style behaviour.

he even stated himself that noone at the police or local authority cares about what he had to say!

he doesnt have the power to try and give orders to people and harrass people till they shut their companies down, even if they are a complete cancer!

like i said, a more pro active approach is needed, and is completly free... and if the shitty promotions dont want help or advice from pro's, then let them rott, as thats all that will happen once they have lost all their money!

* not aimed at OP or a particulat person

I cant help but laugh at the 'running in my town' bollocks. Imagine the manager of Asda 'insert city' stopping the manager of a new corner shop in the street and giving him a mouthful because his selection of crisps are shite. Fucking shut up.

If you claim that your promotion is a business then treat it like one and not some cack handed back street wannabe ganster warfare. Get on with it, promote your show more and don't use 'American wrestling' on your posters, it looks shite, it will only gain the attention of small kids and their parents and then they will leave very dissapointed because it was fuck all like 'american wrestling'.

If the 'random fan / family & child' goes to 'their' show instead of yours, its because 'they' put more time in to promotion and put more posters up on the boarded up Woolworths windows... generally inbetween the poster for the ladyboys of bangkok and the 'lost dog' flyer.
