I'm quite happy Blackburn/Arsenal wasn't included this week.....don't think in a million years I'd have seen this one coming.

I doubt anyone would've guessed the score there either, but the reason for leaving it out is I vowed to avoid early starts (i.e. before 2:30 in the afternoon on Saturdays) for as long as possible this season, barring international weeks. That's why the Merseyside derby is not currently scheduled for the round after next, but since I'm not posting that card, it's not my responsibility if it happens to reappear.

Anyway, the table's been here for a few hours, while the results have been in the first post since last thing Sunday night. This time last week I pondered what had happened to the old sivy, and this time he didn't disappoint, returning with a whimper as the round's lowest scorer on 3 points. That allowed cheetah to close the gap to a mere 40 points, and The Whole Show kept in touch by matching his 8-point haul. In a fairly high-scoring round, neither was close to equalling brownie's 13 points which saw him rocket up to sixth, but at the other end joe mills is still paying the price for his absence last week.

Usually when it's someone's D2D turn, they get it wrong and have a stinker to boot. Although vanhalen kept up the first half of that bargain by backing Carlisle and being emphatically incorrect, he didn't do too badly in the other games and got into double figures. This despite most other people again gratefully accepting the 2 easy bonus points. Most participants got the other randomly chosen third-tier match right too.

In the top flight, Villa's draw with the Mags was the most fruitful score, as it was the only one particularly good for three-pointers. Quite a few people saw the emphatic home wins coming elsewhere, but not by such a margin as happened at Morfa and the Lane. North of the border a home victory in the Old Firm derby was somewhat favoured, but once more the exact scoreline was not especially useful. The sharing of 4 goals at Pittodrie proved a bit more productive, and over in France the lesser of the two clashes in Toulouse provided the more surprising of the two home wins.

All right, new set of 10 coming up in a moment then, but for the second successive week the D2D is in some doubt due to an unexplained non-participation the round before.
