Paid Members Kookoocachu Posted September 13, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted September 13, 2011 Truth being told, I'm on a waiting list to be assessed. Have been on it now around 15 months. I could get it done privately a lot quicker but it would cost nearly
Paid Members DJ Kris Posted September 13, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted September 13, 2011 What a horrible individual. I think taking someone with that mentality off the streets is the only course of action. Anyone so distanced from human emotions like that really needs to be somewhere that he can get some sort of help. Â He asked for three other cases of Facebook trolling
Paid Members air_raid Posted September 13, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted September 13, 2011 I always find this an odd thing to say. Whenever I read it I can't help but imagine the person in court saying "By the way, since no one's mentioned it I just thought you should know I also...." Â I think it might refer to three other *legal* cases regarding trolling, not three other times he did it.
bobbins
I think taking someone with that mentality off the streets is the only course of action. He wasn't a danger on the streets though was he? He was just in his bedroom. Taking someone with that mentality off the internet seems like a far more reasonable course of action. Â Anyone so distanced from human emotions like that really needs to be somewhere that he can get some sort of help. Like prison? Â This is purely prison as disproportionate retribution with no thought to the consequences.
Glen Quagmire
Have you had your chromosomes checked? Dylls going through all that now. I haven't. It's difficult in Northern Ireland, especially if you live outside Belfast, for adults to get tested for ASD's. My local health care trust only has facilities at the moment for testing and supporting children up to 18 years old. Last year after talking with my psychotherapist, who himself doesn't really deal with ASD's, put me on a local list for adults to be tested but I've heard nothing since. I came across Asperger's the first time after having come across it in a medical textbook about eight years ago, but I refuse to self-diagnose myself with it. The thing was that at school, I wasn't really a problem student, I was quiet pupil, didn't get into trouble much nor had obvious problems in my studies but I found it very hard to socialise with others in my class, and not because I didn't try to make efforts myself. For those reasons I was never referred by a teacher or principal for any special needs, nor was Asperger's really known much about until I was halfway through secondary school. Glen Quagmire
Like prison? This is purely prison as disproportionate retribution with no thought to the consequences. It wouldn't surprise me if Sean Duffy basically isolated himself so much from the world around himself that he either lost some concept of social norms or became internally fed up & angry at being unable to connect with people that he did this behaviour as revenge indiscriminatingly. Prison, in terms of rehabilitation, I don't think will help him on that. Commitment to a secure mental hospital until deemed fit for release may be a better option. bobbins
Commitment to a secure mental hospital until deemed fit for release may be a better option. Even that seems unnecessary and counter-productive. Â Is it just me or does his lawyer seem to have been massively shit? Wouldn't the prosecution have to prove that he'd been intending to harass and cause malice. With the Aspergers diagnosis, I don't know how you could prove that. Maybe he insisted on pleading guilty. In which case, 18 weeks in jail is amazingly harsh. Be interesting to see what the autism charities say about this.

Hyperion
I'm more normal than I expected which is not surprising to me. Your Aspie score: 52 of 200 Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 161 of 200 You are very likely neurotypical  I do have flashes of A.D.D. when I'm alone like pausing a film 20 times to do other things, I'm okay at cinemas or with others when I have to sit through the whole thing in one go however.   Anyways, the more tossers that are legally banned from the internet the better. Â I have a lot of old UK comedy series on DVd and sometimes it can take me most of the day to get through just one half a hour episode. Â I buy new movies but rarely even watch them as I know i want to watch them all the way though but know i won't mange it so I just stick something on I've seen a 100X already as I know it will be easier
