britishwrestlinglegends
Did the live shows attract smaller crowds right after than right before the exposure? That will be an indication of the exposure's impact but I do not believe attendance figures from this period are available. What was exposed that was not already known to most people? Most people knew that wrestling was fixed, or didn't they?  @Tommy: I would believe they worked for either office (Dixon or Crabtree), not both. At least the big names.   So basically, Tony Walsh chose an option where he could get a big pay-off instead of many lousy pay-offs from Crabtree.  A couple of related questions:  -Did Tony Walsh retire from the ring at the time of the exposure (or had he already retired), or did promoters blacklist him? -How long did Max Crabtree continue promoting? Yes he took the pay-off, But always tried to use other excuses for writing his article. Walsh had just retired or quit the business & could not be blacklisted, But would have been for sure. Even to this day there is a little resentment towards him from the old timers, But not much compared to how enraged they were at the time.
alex shane's selling ability
Did Tony Walsh retire from the ring at the time of the exposure (or had he already retired), or did promoters blacklist him? Â His son also went on to work relatively regularly for Dixon, so I assume a lot of animosity had cooled by that period. Albeit that a lot of the veterans that were around in the 80s were no longer there. Â How long did Max Crabtree continue promoting? Â He was still promoting in the early 90s. Some of his later shows, when he was forced to stop building everything around Big Daddy, actually had some fantastic matches on them. He was using some great workers like Richie Brooks, Greg Valentine, Steve Logan, King Benn, Kid McCoy and Jimmy Ocean in far more prominent postions on the card than he had in the recent past. Then when they more or less quit the business, one by one, Crabtree resorted to working with Klondyke Jake promoting the truely awful "Tribute shows"

britishwrestlinglegends
Was Jackie Pallo's "tell all" book released around the same time as this? Yes, Slightly before the Walsh revelations. Both got decent coverage within the media, but maybe slightly surprisingly was the Walsh story created a bigger storm? Pallo had been out of the spotlight for quite a while so maybe that was why? TezzRexx
"The Time of Our Lives" from Sky Sports. Â Thanks! Can't find a download anywhere though, gutted.
Jackpot
Just watched the "Time of our Lives" show before tonight's RAW. Â Mark Rocco loves the sound of his own voice doesn't he? Fucking hell, he jumped in whenever anybody else tried speaking. Give it a rest mate. You could see Tony Walsh was slightly embarrassed by the article, mind you anybody having anything to do with that paper should be embarrassed. He didn't really wanna go into what was actually said. Especially with it being so long ago now.

Really Big Shoe
If you've got a Sky HD box with the Ondemand stuff, then it could be there under the Sky Sports section. I think it could be under 'original specials' maybe?
