Paid Members Jaffa Posted August 11, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted August 11, 2011 I find it astounding that a follower of football isn't aware of Bayern Munich's cross-town rivals. Really? The Bundesliga isn't like Serie A or La Liga - a league that people may follow due to it having some prominent exposure on TV. It wasn't a complaint - more of a pre-planned excuse when I don't score any points on the games.

Exposure on TV? What about Eurosport's teletext service back in the day, where you could check on the Bundesliga's second tier and Serie B and C on a weekly basis, all in their native language! Oh, just me then. On a general point, I took Spurs-Everton off the card at the last minute as it was most at risk of being called off. Feeling a bit pleased about that decision now. Fog Dude
Apologies for the lateness of all this. The results went in the first post Sunday evening, which was when I figured out all the scores and made image files of the table. Then I spent yesterday changing ISPs, so it was only uploaded here this morning. Top scorer was El Espanacas, who was the only player into double figures in another tough round. It's enough to see him go second behind runaway leader sivy, who was next best this week with 9 points. He'd still be leader without his D2D bonuses after another impressive performance. I presume Liquid Snake isn't joining us after all, but he appears on the table for now since he bothered to send me his D2D choices. Latecomers tom and The Miz slot neatly into the lower half, while of those who've participated in both weeks so far, Rory and this round's lowest scorer Haraga (whose unwanted new name is no longer censored) have been the most shockingly poor. Four of brownie's seven points overall have come from German second-tier games. Aside from those easy matches, the EPL's opening weekend was a mixed bag. All our fixtures went ahead though, so there's little excuse for another low-scoring round. Mind you, no home wins must be pretty unusual, along with a high number of stalemates. Nobody quite foresaw the exact margin of QPR's defeat. Right, there'll be another set of ten within 24 hours. It looks like La Liga players are going on strike, so if that doesn't change by tomorrow, any preferences for how to flesh out the next card?
