Â Â Â Avian has been a huge mission since the start of the year trying to find out and exact revenge on whoever took out his brother and tag team partner, Danny V. He was viciously attacked from behind and has not been seen in a wrestling ring since the fateful night in February. Â Â Â Avian has gone through list of suspects that have included CJ Banks & Spud, Bam Bam Barton & SC Supreme, and most recently former friend Matt Myers. Under the illusions he can't trust anyone, a paranoid and confused Avian clocked Myers, who had been helping Avian on his search and denied the allegations. This led to a match between the two NGW originals at the 3rd Anniversary Show which Avian lost. Myers was furious that another of is friends would turn against him and suspect he would do something like that to a close friend like Danny V. Â Â Â Following the match, NGW Management Mark Criteria came out proclaiming he knew something. He revealed he knew that Myers definitely wasn't behind the attack because he saw it all happen and he saw who did it. With Criteria recently been a bit paranoid himself about being undermined by the NGW board since his client Alex Cyanide was stripped of the title a year ago, he made it clear he wasn't going to make it as simple as just telling Avian...he was going to have some fun with it. He said if Avian put his hands on him, not only would he NEVER tell Avian, he would have no problem firing him from NGW. He told Avian that he had set him up a match for Summer Smash Brawl 4 and if he could beat what Criteria put in front of him, he would then tell him who attacked his brother. But he said he'd set him up against two people and seeing as though he'd aliented his last remaining friend in NGW in Matt Myers, it looked like he would be facing them alone. Â Â Â Criteria's hand picked opponents were the ruthless Venum. SSB4 rolled around and the time came for the handicap match and as they announced Venum's opponent it wasn't Avian who came out but his former friend Matt Myers. Myers revealed that Avian had been attacked backstage earlier in the day, in a similar but less brutal fashion to how Danny V had been attacked over 6 months previously. He hadn't gone to hospital but had been sent home and not cleared to wrestle. Myers told Venum & Mark Criteria that while Avian was far from his favourite person he'd had enough of this. He'd lost a friend over it and innocent people had been attacked. Enough was enough. Â Â Â He said he was going to take Avian's place in the match, win it and then Criteria would have to tell everyone who attacked Danny V. But he wasn't going to do it alone, unlike Avian he still had friends and he had a tag team partner for the evening. He brought out former NGW Champion, Sam Bailey. Dunny Posted September 4, 2011 Author Share Posted September 4, 2011 Myers tests himself  Fresh off his defeat in what was practically a handicap match against Venum, Matt Myers has requested a test. He wants to put the last few months of dissention with his former friend Avian behind him and wants the opportunity to prove himself against the very best. Myers sees this as the perfect time to step up his game.  He has been to the NGW board of directors and asked for a match at Revelations on Friday 9th September. Not just any match, but a match against someone he looks up to and respects greatly. A man he watched and studied throughout his training and has often been on hand to support Myers through the early years of his career. That man is none other than El Ligero!  Upon hearing the request, NGW board of directors jumped at the chance of having two of the fans very top favourites in the ring together going one on one. We have a fantastic main event with the debut of Dean Allmark who takes on Nathan Cruz, With "The Showstealer" putting his career on the line! Plus fresh from his training seminar last night, WOS legend Dave Taylor takes on Jack Gallagher in a real blast from the past for fans like me of the almost lost art of Technical British Wrestling. Â Also at training last night, rumours were rife on the identity of The Storr Brothers mystery attacker? I genuinley have no idea how that one is going to pan out? Add to this the first semi final for the tag belts & Ligero v Myers, all of which suggest to me that any wrestling fan would be mad to miss this one! (Shameless plug, Doors 7.00pm. Dean's always entertaining at All Star; but seeing his match with CJ Banks a couple of months at DPW, you can really see that he steps up his game on these 'indy' shows.
