Well, I wouldnt have minded. It wouldnt have hurt Punk if Triple H left him lying. It would have been deserved to be honest after the abuse HHH was getting. You have to show you arse and have a bit of give and take. It seems like some people wouldnt be happy unless CM Punk got every zinger in on everyone and he left every show looking like Jack the Biscuit. If Punk suddenly got a good kicking or got out witted on the microphone, it wouldnt be the end of the world. If Triple H pedigreed him next week before a big title defence or smacked him in the nut with his sledgehammer, it makes Triple H look less like a cool character (which he needs to be as the owner otherwise, the shareholders wont be to happy) and it gives Punk an excuse for losing the belt and a ready made feud post SummerSlam. Punk getting a beating by Triple H next week wouldnt be the end of the world.

Zack Ryder sold more t-shirts than The Rock at Raw last night. Speaking of Ryder, is it just me or on Raw did they not mention him being Teddy Long's assistant? I completely forgot about it until I just saw him on about driving to Zackdown on Twitter.

Yep, you're correct.

Didn't mention it once, not that JR or Lawler were given the chance due to Cole going on non-stop during that match - which is to the point where its harming the product now.

I was amused by the revelation that Punk 'likes to push back'.

Was it just me, or was the crowd reaction to Punk pretty lacklustre on Raw?

R-Truth continues to make for great TV.

Happy to see Ryder's hard work paying off for him.

Overall I thought Raw was pretty good again, if not spectacular. I'm actually relieved that they went with the most logical, albeit obvious, storyline to build the rematch for SummerSlam. I was worried that the final segment would see Triple H decking Punk. I think they should wait to pull the trigger on that one, they need to avoid hot-shotting the big developments in this storyline and keep Mr H's as a non-physical character for as long as possible.

JR now has Josh his old job.. sit next to King and cole and do nothing.... they havent even made him lead announcer, Cole is STILL doing the heel gimmick AND trying to sell a PPV to us..

Its the most go away heat i've ever had with a person, nothing about it works!!!!

Ideally I wouldn't have them touch for ages yet. I know WWE seem to find it impossible, but make us want to see that match. It's only been two confrontations (and only one on Raw).

On the Raw/Pedigree script thing, Punk alluded to it in an interview with ESPN. He said he had to "dodge a few bullets" so far in his push, many suspect he went to Vince and reasoned with him that his original idea sucked. I'm always suspicious of Triple H though, people can go on about "Triple H hate is so 2003", but the truth is Triple H has a long history of being a baw bag because he can be one. CM Punk also isn't a 'Triple H guy' which hurts him too. Hopefully WWE do the right thing and play on paranoia, but at the same time having Punk go over. If Triple H gets Punk over proper (like he should be doing given his age and position) then "Triple H hate is so 2003".

The annoying thing is that no matter what CM Punk says to Triple H and how offensive it might be Triple H just no sells it with a smug smile. If he acted angry or looked even slightly pissed off it would do a hell of a lot more to get CM Punk over.

And there's all the reports about how the storyline is intended to get "the family" over which is very concerning. Triple H doesn't need to get over, he's already over. WWE desperatley need genuine bona fide main eventers and CM Punk can be one of them. Putting Triple H over him or anyone else will destroy any chances of proper main eventers in the future.

It's their first week of interaction on Raw. Like McMahon/Austin, you need to let things build to the eventual explosion of Triple H ripping his shirt off and going mental. It's daft having Triple H pissed off in the first week, they just need to tease a feud. Triple H is a guy that spent years being a 'degenerate', a joke about his wife is hardly going to mean much to a guy like him. It makes sense.

Also I think Triple H was perfect in the opening segment. He seemed to squirm when Punk mentioned his backstage dealings. Nice and subtle I thought.

No it wouldnt, he would come across like a wrestling character if he went mad, what Punks saying is meant to be embarassing and shootworthy.

In my view, the WWE have ruined this angle from the minute RAW started after MITB. Punk should have been off for weeks, a tournament at Summerslam, Punk ruins the final somehow and refuses to let them crown a new champion, parades around media outlets, even other wrestling promotions as WWE champion, on Twitter etc until he is encouraged to return to RAW due to the 30 day rule with Titles.

Its turned into the typical rush job booking that hasnt worked for years.

I thought the opening and closing segments were absolutely brilliant. Didn't particularly like anything in between. Loving Punk's new music.

They've perhaps wasted the angle a little bit but I can see why they wanted him back for SummerSlam.

Whilst it's easy to say what they should have done with this angle, some of the suggestions are impractical. They couldn't keep Punk off of Summerslam after the big story they had. The storyline reason was a good way of resolving issues. They're lucky Punk's such a good promo and can make it seem plausible. As much as we'd have liked him to stay away a while, Summerslam would have felt very flat with a short build up for what would likely be Del Rio/Cena. And if they were to do that, the MITB finish would likely have been different anyway. It's a case of unfortunate timing but they're doing a good job with it still. I look forward to the likely Triple H/Punk feud and the connotations behind it. Think of MITB as a way of kickstarting the character of Punk and the story of Triple H as COO. It still has life in it even though momentum's likely to drop off a bit. This episode isn't a good indicator of if the angle's dying or not though as it's transitional.

Just re-watched the Triple H/CM Punk bit at the start. On second viewing it was much better.

I thought Triple H was amazing in it. He seemed to squirm a bit when Punk hinted at his backstage antics, and after the promo was finished he had the look of a man who just got bitch slapped. Subtle-ish stuff, but it made CM Punk appear better than Triple H on the mic (which is the case) and that Triple H was out classed. How much of this is reality and script is unknown (it's WWE, so probably script) but he was brilliant with what he did.

Also CM Punk needs to bust out his Triple H impression more often. It's more accurate than the "I am the Game-ah!" stuff they did during Mr. H's peak.

Bang on, wasn't it? I've watched Mr.Punks promo's over and over, erm, over the years and that throwaway impression of HHH was remarkable...
