Quick question

If Flair/Hogan 99 was a double turn and Hogan was face afterwards, did the rest of the NWO turn face by default? If not then it means Hogan was a face while a member of a heel group. Is this a rare occurence in pro wrestling?

There was no nWo really. Hogan turned face, but he never was around the nWo anymore. Nash was a heel who turned face after Hogan did his knee in. So Bischoff was off TV because he had bigger fish to try (literally he was setting up the Nitro Grill), Lex Luger was out injured, Scott Hall was out injured/rehab and Scott Steiner had joined his brother Rick Steiner as a heel unit and Bagwell left the nWo. Hogan still wore the shirts, but there was no nWo anymore by the time Hogan turned face for real.

I think people link the fingerpoke of doom incident to the downfall of WCW because thats when WWF regained the lead in the Monday Night wars (it was also the night when Mick Foley won the WWF title, and the "That's gonna put some butts in the seats" line in Nitro).

*Edit- Just looked it up, Dang it, Raw went ahead for the first time in years in April 1998, and after Oct 1998 never lost the lead
