The Invisible Boy Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Absolutely loved Punk and he is definetly the best right now, I loved how he was becoming an anti hero with fans from Cena's home town actually booing him and cheering Punk instead, booing Vince and cheering Punk. I really, really hope Punk wins at Money in the Bank, if he loses there all of the build up and hype they've done will feel totally lost as the storyline just ends there, the weakest thing they can do is have Punk lose and moan about it, sign a contract and go after Cena as it'd just feel like a normal feud and take out the whole pissed off "I'm leaving WWE with the Title" Punk, whereas if Punk wins it Vince could invite him as a guest to Raw and offer him a huge contract etc, maybe go down another route too etc, could end with Punk being the master manipulator and Vince being on his side all along as a way to get rid of Cena. I'd love a run in from Colt Cabanna at Money in the Bank and for him to become the newest member of the Nexus, the only thing annoying me right now is the lack of effort Nexus have in this feud, they could have been used a little bit as now it just seems as though Punk and a group of guys all just happen to be wearing the same shirt, maybe other than last night with the handicap match. Although whilst I do say that I suppose if the Nexus were involved in this they'd just dilute the whole thing, with Punk being the sole guy there going against Cena he has been absolute gold and I just hope he becomes the biggest face in WWE within the next few months, bigger than both Cena and Orton.
Main Event Jobber Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Whats happened to Mason Ryan is he injured or something
jimufctna24 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 If last night proved one thing, it is that I think WWE at one point in the future should at least try and push CM Punk as a top line face. Â I could write how great he was last night but everything that has needed to be said has already been said above really. Cant wait for the PPV on Sunday looking forward to it more than I did for Wrestlemania.
The Miz Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Ofcourse if WWE was built around logic all Vince would need to do is walk down to ringside, up into the ring and interfere. Then Cena would hold onto the Title in a DQ.
Froggivizal_Version1.0 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I'm not sure if it'd be viable merchandise wise (which is the main factor for anything WWE does these days), but I'd definitely pull a double turn at the Pay-Per-View. Maybe have Punk get screwed out of the belt and have Cena embrace that he is the Corporate Champion. The heat for that would be nuclear at Money in the Bank. I'd then have Vince & Cena brag on RAW how they've saved the WWE Title but then have Punk run in from the crowd only to be held back. Build it up so Punk wants to get back into the WWE but Vince keeps shutting him down. Have The New Nexus come out and look like they're creating an opening for Punk only for them to turn on him and become Cena's hired help. Â While all this is going on, I'd have Mysterio win MITB and immediately make a challenge for Summerslam. Hype up the perfect record the briefcase has and that it's not looking good that Cena will retain. Then at the PPV, following run-ins from Punk, Vince, Otunga & McGullicutty - Cena is able to retain and end the MITB streak. Vince & Cena can cut promos saying not even MITB briefcase can stop them. Have Punk charge to the ring with Gallows & Cabana from the crowd and have them take apart security and eventually corner Vince, only for Nexus & Cena to cut them off and beat them down. Next RAW, Vince offers Punk a contract but with very little money and no perks, and Punk signs on the provision he gets both Cena & Vince in a match, making Cena/Vince vs. Mysterio/Punk at the PPV. Build it up with Punk & Mysterio miscommunication building on their history and go from there. Possibly building to a WWE Title Hell in a Cell, and then Punk vs Vince at Survivor Series. Â It'd never happen though.
Paid Members Maverick Posted July 12, 2011 Paid Members Posted July 12, 2011 I struggle to see why anyone want's Colt Cabana involved in this angle to be honest, I get that he's Punks best mate and all but he's kind of just a comedy character and don't think he'd fit well with what their going for with Punk at the minute and just don't think the guy would do much worth in WWE in the long term. As said Punk was fantastic last night, really psyched for Money in the Bank.

I quite agree, in fact even if he was to get involved I suspect an overwhelming majority of the audience wouldn't even know who he was.
or619 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Anyone for a Colt run in at MITB as a one shot deal? Â I was wondering the same thing but a more permanent deal ! Maybe it could be the start of a new faction for Punk ?
Shovanist Pig Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I was wondering the same thing but a more permanent deal ! Maybe it could be the start of a new faction for Punk ? Â Maybe Colt could take over his old chum as The New Nexus leader. Â Can Cabana do serious?
Snitsky's back acne Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 'I don't want your jet, your jet smells' Â Great stuff from Punk.
Vito Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Punk telling Cena, via megaphone, that his music was too loud and to turn it down was simply amazing.
Dirty Eddie Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Punk is just on another level from everyone else on that roster. Â I've been saying he is the best all-around talent they have for ages, and that promo proved it. It was around (or even over) 20 minutes and Punk made that the most captivating promo segment in years and years. Fair play to Vince for actually playing it in a (mostly) realistic manner too, he really sold the importance of the segment. Â Just excellent.
Loki Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 It's amazing to see how far Punk has come since he debuted in WWE. He's hunkered down and learnt his craft from the array of talent around him, and absolutely "gets it". His matches have come on leaps and bounds too, he seems to fit right into the main event style whilst still retaining a unique feel. Â All credit to the guy for being humble enough to put in the work - you can compare it to guys like Kaval who clearly already feel the sun shines out of their arse and don't see a reason to change.

It's clear there was always talent there but he's turning into something pretty special. The past few years he's really, really grown as a performer. Some of the points he touched upon on Raw really rang true, he appears to be very, very good at reading a crowd and knowing just how to react.  Will probably post more on this later because this angle and development is tremendous, compelling as fuck and such an interesting scenario. But i just had to agree with that point. And i don't always agree with Lokers, what with his sometimes questionable tastes (segue~!).  I proper love Vince these days, he and Punk together is money. Sexy money.
AndyUK Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 This Punk storyline is fantastic. Loved the two promos from him and Cena and McMahon are playing their roles to perfection. For all of the crap that goes on in pro wrestling, this proves that the sport is capable of good, intelligent stories and they're capable of doing it under the ''dreaded'' PG banner too. Â The rest of the show was solid enough and that is all that it needed to be because they've already got a storyline to hook the audience. Really hope it isn't the end of this angle on Sunday.
