Paid Members I Bent My Wookie Posted July 10, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted July 10, 2011 The company AIW in Ohio, who I think have some connection with Chikara in some way, did run a TPI this year (Todd Pettengill Invitational) with such guys competing as Tim Donst, Paul London, Shima Xion, Mad Man Pondo, BJ Whitmer, Colt Cabana and others. Actually looked to be a pretty decent tournament, hoping to pick it up on DVD at some stage

Vito
I've often wondered how IWA:MS managed to exist for so long when they seemed to draw such terrible crowds, I've seen a lot of really good matches take place in an IWA:MS ring over the years and it always shocked me at how few people there were in the audience. I guess they survived on tape/DVD sales and merchandise because they sure as Hell weren't making any money selling tickets.

Vito
Do people in America tip fast food workers? If so Ian must have cleared a shitload of tables.
Paid Members Your Fight Site Posted July 10, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted July 10, 2011 Do people in America tip fast food workers? If so Ian must have cleared a shitload of tables. I'm not sure. I can't remember tipping the staff when I ate in a McDonald's when in Florida a few years ago, but did in other food places like Sizzler.
cobystag
I think he got the taco bell job after IWA folded. Â And you don't tip at fast food restaurants as that scene from Reservoir Dogs will attest too.
Paid Members Tommy! Posted July 10, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted July 10, 2011 If Ian Rotten had cleared my table I'd have given him a tip, "fuck off and stop wrestling" probably.

IWA would live and die by how much Rotten made/lost at the casino boats in Indiana.
Tommy Atkins
He was an idiot. I remember him going on about the small crowds and saying how he could book Bill Dundee or whoever and draw far more people but he didn't want to do it because he was committed to running an ECW-style promotion in Indiana and Kentucky. Â He also said something it being reminscent of wrestling in the 70s, which is utter bullshit really.
xXxj-proxXx
The Mike Levy video is why I hope Ian Rotten drowns in the bath, and why I found it absolutely hysterical when Mickie Knuckles snapped her fat leg like a twig. Â I just watched that Levy video for the first time and I totally agree with both of your statements. They're truly awful people

Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted July 10, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted July 10, 2011 They should have put "Big Time American Wrestling" on the posters and false advertised Earthquake. That usually works over here.

Richie Freebird
He probably supplemented it with his wages from his job on the counter at Taco Bell.  Not to mention paying the talent in heroin, rather than money.  I just watched that Levy video for the first time and I totally agree with both of your statements.
