He's requested a rematch against the man that beat him at Prophecy in April. The match was critically acclaimed and a rematch had been requested by many already and it seems Joey had the same idea.  He has told NGW management he is determined to put the disappointment of defeat in his NGW debut behind him and show the NGW fans what he can do.    Scheduled to appear: (card subject to change)  NGW Championship - Street Fighta 'Showstealer' Nathan Cruz Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Dunny Posted June 6, 2011 Author Share Posted June 6, 2011 Friends Collide Matt Myers V Avian  Regeneration, in February, was set to see a huge tag match of the most popular team in NGW - The Storr Brothers (Avian & Matt Myers) against the combination of Rockstar Spud & CJ Banks following a build up of bad blood beginning two months previous. But the match never happened...Danny V was attacked backstage earlier in the day and was escorted to hospital by his brother Avian.  Leaving Spud & CJ without opponents, Matt Myers (longtime friend of the brothers) stepped up to challenge the Rockstar and gain some revenge for his friend Danny V. The Rockstar once again wormed his way out of performing at NGW and put CJ Banks in his place. Matt Myers scored a big victory in one of the biggest matches of his career, but Spud & Banks weren't done there and began a beat down on Myers. It was at this point that Avian stormed into the venue and jumped the guard rails and sent Banks & Spud scurrying away. Avian said what everyone else was thinking and accused Rockstar Spud & CJ Banks of the vicious attack. Spud denied the attack and explained that as a Rockstar he doesnt arrive to venues until the middle of the show so it couldn't have been him. He suggested that Avian consider who hates the Storr Brothers enough to put Danny V on the shelf.  That's exactly what Avian did in April at Prophecy. Earlier in the night, he & Myers had been knocked out of the tag team tournament at the first hurdle - a tournament that he and his brother would surely have been hot favourites for had Danny been fit. Following a loss, Bam Bam Barton & SC Supreme were in the ring and got blindsided by Myers & Avian. Avian believed that following their year long battle to prove tag team domination against The Storrs, Barton & Supreme were jealous of their victory and couldn't handle being second best so viciously injured Danny V.  Barton stated that him & Supreme weren't even in Hull the night of the attack and were elsewhere and had clear alibis. Barton suggested that maybe Avian looked a little closer to home, to someone who got the big match with CJ Banks and gained a tag team partner and a spot in the tag tournament, he then stared a hole into Myers. Myers & Avian had a heated confrontation with Avian seemingly questioning the loyalty of his friend. Avian seemed conflicted, not knowing what to think while Myers protested his innocence. Sam Bailey got in between the two to try and calm the situation and tried to make Avian see sense. But Bailey couldn't stop Avian laying a huge right hand onto Myers which shook the Eastmount Recreation Centre in shock. Myers walked off and revealed later he considered leaving NGW altogether having seeing another friend turn his back on him, just like Nathan Cruz did 18 months previously.  NGW decided the only way for them to air out their differences was in the ring - one on one. Upon hearing this news later in the night, the NGW fans went crazy. There is nothing more fitting for NGW's 3rd Birthday Spectacular than seeing two of NGW's most loyal originals and fan favourites go at it for the first time EVER! Be there THIS Saturday 11th June, book or arrive early to avoid disappointment! (In what had to be one of the best matches i've ever witnessed).  I'm Sure Dunny will give more details in the coming days.  PS Got My Dvd's sorted and picked up Thanks Dunny. Legit not a bad match on the show.  Cruz/Bailey both delivered in the main event. Both really deserve credit as they took some nasty looking bumps to the ramps and also to the floor. Both worked the match at one hell of a pace as well.  I also really enjoyed the opener - I generally dont like comedy matches but, for whatever reason, I find the Diablo/Ligero double act massively entertaining. Supreme/Barton worked pretty much perfectly against them. I honestly dont think this match could have been any better.  Everything else on the show ranged from solid to very good.  NGW seem to have gotten themselves a really solid roster and deserve all the credit they get at the moment. I have travelled up and down the country for a good few years seeing almost every decent and not so decent promotion going and would happily tell anybody that listened that IPW was the place to go and that Andy was somebody that I hold in very high regard and aspire to be like. I have to admit that there are still WAW , VPW and NEWS that I have not sampled but last night I truly discovered something amazing. Â NGW have never felt the need to get in imports and have just proved that you can be amazing without them through great story telling and booking the best guys in the uk ! Â My first bit of praise is regarding the set up - now I know that there are some promotions that I have not see but trust me this is easily the best in the country , the entrance , lights , walkways , screen and the sliding doors - WOW WOW WOW WOW , I was talking to Toga and all we could say was - WE WANT THAT ! Â The video screen had entrance videos on show as well as video packages of build up to matches which was great as I had not been to NGW before so it got me up to date on the storylines. Â They had various lighting which was all done at the right time and looked amazing. Â The wrestling was fantastic which further enhances my opinion that if wrestlers have good story lines and an amazing crowd to perform in front of then they will give the very best performances , and believe me the crowd was amazing , chanting getting involved ( including Sam smashing Cruz with my wifes shoe ) and playing a huge part in the show ! Â In short if you have not seen NGW then you need to get there , they certainly showed me that I have a lot to learn and given my a lot to aspire to. There is no way this wouldn't come together without a lot of hard work from Luke and Dunny but also of a very dedicated team of trainee's ! Â I'm not great at giving reviews regarding matches but just a couple of snipets - Loved the 2 tag matches and thought the comedy between El Ligero and Diablo was amazing , I had only seen Diablo as a heel in DPW before but loved the match last night - Very very entertaining ! Well done to you guys . Let's hope matt get more big story lines. Well done  Awesome show last night at New Generation Wrestling UK, great company as well  Great night, great matches and great video media work. A super, super show! Loved the opening match for comedy genius reason; loved the finish of the (backstabber) Avian (who really attacked his own brother) vs Myers; a mega colossus stixx bout and the main event rocked too!! Overall, a class show!!  Awesome show night, enjoyed my first NGW event and it wont be my last  well done again lads,thoroughly enjoyed the night, Matt was great loved the fact you was in black and no face paint top match, I even heard dan cheer for Nathan under his breathe when Nathan won the street fight, i am slowly converting my housemates!!, think i might start up a "mothers/wives appreciation society for Nathan Cruz!!!  Lets go nathan!! Loved the show. 1st time and was very impressed. Great evenings entertainment :-)  tonights show was amazing the match ups was brilliant good job tonight well done  Another amazing show tonight - Really enjoyed it ! well done guys, Great job !  First NGW show i've been too and i enjoyed it -- Cant wait for the next event  loved tonight .. cruz ftw!! we wanted tables and we got em' ... great way for me to see ma first live event xxxx  Awesome anniversary show tonight guys, the main event was epic cruz is awesome chants were ace;).  What an Awesome Night. New Generation Wrestling UK Just gets better. Nathan Cruz and Sam Bailey What a match. Has to be the greatest match i have ever witnessed.  has just been to a great ngw wrestling event.  Fabulous show!
