shinyahashimoto Posted May 29, 2011 Share Posted May 29, 2011 Spring Stampede 99 and 2000 are worth watching. 99 is the final good PPV before the quality and buyrate goes down the pan, and 2000 is a complete reboot on the night, feels quite fresh even to this day. Â WCW never treated PPV's with the build-up the deserved. Does anyone else remember quite a few No.1 Contenders match for Cruiseweight Title being on the PPV, for the title match to be on Nitro! Also Hogan/Lex world title match on the main event of Nitro, one week before a PPV which had the exact same main event! Generally the main events on PPV weren't distinguishable enough from those on Nitro(perhaps due to the high quality of Main Eventer Name V Main Eventer Name thrown together for free).
