Paid Members Carbomb Posted April 7, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 7, 2011 Matt Morgan. I want to I DO like him, but the second he starts wrestling it all goes away. The "one man tag team champions" gimmick he was doing a while ago was one of the most entertaining things in wrestling at the time.... until the bell rang.  Ooh, good call. He comes across as a guy who knows all the things necessary to doing well, but does them as if he's ticking boxes, rather than actually performing. It's frustrating, because he's got the look and the diction.  Another one I just thought of, Mordecai, I thought he had a VERY interesting gimmick, that wasnt fully explored, a feud with The Undertaker that was expected could have allowed them to develop the gimmick a bit more, could of made of some interesting stuff. Yeah, I was going to say Mordecai - cracking idea for a gimmick and potential mega-feud ready made with Taker.  But it just never happened, because Kevin Thorne was wank  To be honest, Kevin Thorne is a good call - as both Mordecai and as the vampire, I really wanted him to be better. I actually liked the vampire gimmick more - a Gangrel for today.  Hernandez - I think he's got one of the best looks in the business, it's just a shame that he isn't the best in the ring.  Another good one. But to be fair, he seems to have learned something since going to Mexico, because he's a lot more interesting than he was before. He's getting the character spot on.  Zack Gowen. A One legged wrestler? Wow! More like a one-legged guy hopping a bit before having the shit kicked out of his eyes and thrown down some stairs.  WWE wasted the chance for one of the few feuds he could've had, which was against Flair. Would've been interesting if they'd had him getting flash pins on Flair, with Flair unable to put him away simply because he couldn't put him in the Figure Four. Uncletrunx
Giant Gonzalez. Â The "Bloody hell!" factor when he came to the ring and destroyed the Undertaker was incredible, especially as they hadn't had anyone do it before. Â Sadly the subsequent feud was awful, the Chloroform based win being a particular low.
Professor Paul's Bin
Chuck Palumbo, I thought he was shit hot in the ring and could have been a decent mid carder at least. Its a shame they never really saw anything in him as I was keane on his 2007-08 biker gimmick
sukhy
The Miz, I enjoy his promos, but I think he's pretty average in the ring
Just Another Victim
A bunch of the ECW roster, probably lead by Justin Credible, who I mark for hard but don't seem to have a massive amount of value outside of the original ECW. Balls Mahoney, Sandman, Simon and Swinger.... Also post 2000 Hall and Waltman who still entertain me no end but don't seem to do the same for many others in their past prime drunken state lol. Paid Members Carbomb Posted April 7, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 7, 2011 Randy Orton great look not much else  Oh, come on. He's got a great character and great ability - he's just gotten very stale and boring with it, that's all. At the height of his game, he was must-see. He just needs to change things up a bit. Its a shame they never really saw anything in him as I was keane on his 2007-08 biker gimmick Does that not kinda go against the topic though? If you actually DO think he was good? Â The only thing he really lacked in was mic skills. If he had that I've no doubt they'd have done more with him. Â As for Wade Barrett, I'm surprised people are so down on his future chances. I really do believe he'll be a World Champion one day.
sukhy
Randy Orton great look not much else   I think his moveset is incredibly suited to being a heel, gets quite boring when he's a face
The Genius
I gotta agree with the Chuck Palumbo shout and while we talking bikers the whole Deciples of Apocalypse biker gang thing had so much potential...shame they kinda sucked. The biker theme comes and goes every few years so it's obviously something that could have had legs with the right people involved-maybe leading to guest star roles in Sons of Anarchy
Magnum
My answer to this is the Mean Street Posse. I loved the gimmick and the ring wear, and for some reason a gang of overbearing posh kids seemed like perfect heels in the Attitude era as a counterpoint to all the DX/Austin-style anti-establishment characters kicking about. I thought at least Joey Abs was going to be good, but alas no. Â I agree which is why I said it wasn't much of a spectacle. You can't name the poor bastard in a "people you wish were good" thread. He only had one leg, how much better could he have been? Seriously harsh. Â There is a lot of resentment towards Gowen because he feels a bit of a "quota-filler" - the reaction isn't look at how far he got in spite of his disability, so much as look how far he got because of his disability. He would have got absolutely nowhere with two legs. Ironically. Â Even the people who resented him must have got some enjoyment out of his run hop though, considering he took some comedy pastings. The Lesnar 'F5 into a ring post/hoyed down some stairs in a wheelchair' angles were great, and he provided some tremendous Evil Vince moments. Telling him 'you might have beaten cancer, but you won't beat me' and kicking his leg out under the table during their arm wrestle were particular highlights. Paid Members tiger_rick Posted April 8, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 8, 2011 My answer to this is the Mean Street Posse. Cue some nobby banging on about how great they were! Â Whoever said Crush earlier in the thread makes a great shout. I quite liked him but he was in a position 4 or 5 times where if he'd had any real talent for wrestling, he could have been awesome. Also hate the viper gimmick but from what I have seen off it which isnt that much the legend killer gimmick was good
The King of Old School
As for Wade Barrett, I'm surprised people are so down on his future chances. I really do believe he'll be a World Champion one day. Â Â Not saying much these days though is it? Â Sean O'Haire is a good shout, but i don't remember him being too bad in WCW? Maybe rose tinted glasses & all that. Â Vladimir Koslov is one for me, during his initial push i thought he looked like one mean bastard and could have been a excellent main event "monster heel". Loved his squash matches, had a belter with Festus on Smackdown too, then that match against HHH happened at Survivor Series, which was beyond horrid that really showed him up. Shame. Reznor
My answer to this is the Mean Street Posse. Cue some nobby banging on about how great they were! Joey Abs was OK, he was pretty good for Heat and Metal. We never really got the chance to see if he was capable of breaking away and getting his own gimmick and push, but i'm sure he was skilled enough for the WWF to do something with him if they wanted to. I remember the DVDVR board used to absolutely love him for his work with the Hardys, Helms, Moore etc in the indies. Â Someone's sig on here reminded me of Ahmed Johnson. I'd say he would have benefitted from being good. It could be argued that his lack of in-ring talent never done him that much harm considering it took him to the IC title and probably would have given him a feud with the Undertaker and world title PPV match if he'd stayed healthy. But with better skills, he could possibly have established himself as a main eventer, or at a level not far off it. Â The original poster mentioning Crush got it just right. He was fine up to the spell he was teaming with Yokozuna. But after he returned as the convict, it all turned to shit.
