SSJLogan
It would just save the hassle if they change their name to World Wide Entertainment. Still WWE without the wrestling and still pissing off all wrestling fans.
Paid Members Dead Mike Posted April 4, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 4, 2011 Alternatively they could just call themselves World Wrestling Entertainment. Call their audience 'wrestling fans' their product 'wrestling' & their superstars 'wrestlers'? Or is that just crazy talk?
Richie Freebird
This is not as ridiculous as certain people out there who claim everything they see in sports and entertainment is a form of pro wrestling when there's no connection at all. Trout Stain
If 'Mania last night was anything to go by, it's not really wrestling anymore anyway is it? Just a load of wanky little sketches featuring annoying midgets, tall Indian freaks, old women who are probably going to croak within the next year or so and a chap known as the deadman lying on the ground for 15 minutes

There is a thread in the pinned section detailing the consequences of posting Mania news in untagged threads. I know you haven
Paid Members JohnnyChimpo Posted April 4, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 4, 2011 I think only John Cena lately has been able to use the words 'wrestler' or 'wrestling'. Â And they aren't the correct terms to describe what John Cena does anyways
SSJLogan
They should call the ring: The Entertainment Square with Bouncy Ropes for Extra Entertainment.

Paid Members ColinBollocks Posted April 4, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 4, 2011 Yeh that's all there was on the show. No matches at all. Yeah Triple H v Undertaker was just two men making the crowd go mental for all of it. Nothing good can come of these entertainments.
Lucas Jackson
I dont see the fuss here at all. Its the same thing. Nobody calls it World Wrestling Entertainment, we all call it WWE (or mostly WWF) anyways. And they are an umbrella company that like has been mentioned they also do films, music, video games and probably more in the future. So having a World Wrestling Entertainment film about a chaperone or a World Wrestling Entertainment rock album doesnt make any sense. Â And the point about announcers is so true. Michael Cole is a GOD, but I feel that it was working fine when he was like at 20% but he shot up to like 200% overnight. And it doesnt help that he calls both Raw and Smackdown and for a while was doing NXT too. Â I am hoping tonight on RAW he will get fired and just go to Smackdown to allow JR to come back. Hell Vince call Ventura up if you want a good colour commentator, or better yet, do it yourself!
Paid Members air_raid Posted April 4, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 4, 2011 Some nonsense about diversifying beyond chicken as well IIRC. [citation needed] Â Wow, what a weird parallel. Â And they are an umbrella company that like has been mentioned they also do films, music, video games and probably more in the future. Â WWE should definitely get into chicken. The Gaffer
I'm surprised they have not already branched out into taking care of the catering at arenas across America. The WWE Universe needs it's Viper Slices and some Dashing Soda to wash it down with. Â Imagine the possibilities.
Paid Members Snake Plissken Posted April 7, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 7, 2011 WWE announced today that the organization would no longer be referred as World Wrestling Entertainment due to Vince McMahon's decree to eliminate the term "wrestling" from the product. The company will be solely branded as WWE.Here is the press release from WWE:Â To better reflect the company's global entertainment offerings, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) announced today a new business model for future growth, including formally rebranding itself, WWE. Â Two key components to WWE's brand expansion will be the active pursuit to acquire entertainment content companies and the outsourcing of WWE's core competencies
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted April 7, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted April 7, 2011 World Wrestling Entertainment was always utter shit. So i'm not fussed. Think this was already posted, will try and merge the threads.
ThePhenom
I don't care what Vince McMahon wants to think, it's wrestling. It was wrestling, it is wrestling, and it will always be wrestling. It should be something to be proud of as well, because they are the best in the world.
