This was my first HEW show in a couple of months, attendance was what it usually is - all seats were filled.

First match saw one half of the Hooligans (Bud - formally The Zebra Kid) beat up a young duo known as Special Addition (Brad Slayer & Kip Sabin). It was a traditional Alaskan Tag, oddly enough the crowd were split between the two sides even though Bud showed a "villain" attitude throughout. Interference at the end from Sam Knee, Danny Blaze and Ricky Knight at the end resulted in a title match main event between HEW Champ; Ricky Knight and Sam Knee. I definitely prefer the Hooligans as a duo rather than singles. Would be nice to see a match between the two teams down the line. Special Edition do show a lot of promise in tag team form, although it seemed they were a little out of their depth on one or two occasions.

Second match was match of the night as Scott Fusion defeated Alex Young who was accompanied by The Zodiac Kid. Fusion looked on form tonight and Young wasn't far behind therefore the match pacing was very good. The finish came when Fusion hit a top-rope cutter on Young for the three count. Alex Young is looking very good these days, he's put on some weight and is beginning to fit the "cruiserweight" wrestler build rather nicely and if he keeps going the way he is he will definitely start catching the eye of others. Fusion, really does have the potential at the moment of something big and could really make it big within the UK and beyond. He has the look and the ability at the moment to go very far.

Chuck Cyrus vs. TJ Daniels was next in a so-so contest with some impressive input by both guys. Cyrus (even though this is the second time I've seen him) looks impressive. He is crisp and everything he does in the ring has a meaning and you really can't ask for much more. He's in very good condition also which adds to that complete package of what a wrestler should be personified as. TJ Daniels is OK, and that's nothing bad. I just feel he has a lot of work to do to come out of that "traditional" wrestler mould to not just fade out, also his fitness seemed rather questionable. With this match and the previous I really wouldn't mind seeing a tag with Fusion/Cyrus vs. Young/Daniels - Harlow maybe?

Fourth saw the ever popular Solomon take on raffle dealer Danny Blaze. This was probably the poorest match of the night but it was your traditional face-face encounter. Some wrestling holds were exchanged before Danny Blaze injured his shoulder and then was unable to continue. The crowd were very split between the two, think some WAW regulars were in attendance as some "WAW" chants were being thrown around the building.

The main event started with a good laugh and this was mainly due to an old lady who openly shouted "I'd rather watch paint dry" before leaving the building! It really wasn't that bad at all! Sam Knee is still very new to the in-ring side of wrestling, but he did very well against the seasoned veteran of Ricky Knight who was managed by his son Bud. Towards the end of the match the referee was knocked down, some exchanges were made between Knee and Knight before another ref joined the action and made the three count. The crowd blew the roof off as Sam Knee had won the HEW Championship. It was rather short-lived however when the original referee came too and disqualified Knee for striking an official therefore Knight retained the title. Knee then said "you call that striking an official? This is striking an official!" and proceeded to beat up the referee. The crowd were on the edge of their seats for the latter part of the match and I can definitely see a rematch coming soon. Is a Sam Knee title reign inevitable? Only time will tell.

Summary: A very good night's worth of entertainment. HEW has a good balance of show-casing young and promising talent whilst getting over their main storylines. Nobody was over-shadowed tonight which is rare for a show, every match was memorable in it's own right. Am looking to try and attend the Harlow show in June.
