The scores were in the original post yesterday morning and the table was updated sometime last night. I'd forgotten just how high scoring could be on international weekend, so even ignoring my artificially inflated performance by getting my D2D right (watched the game in a local bar Friday night, couldn't believe how easy it was considering Austria managed a draw in the reverse fixture last year) the points totals were way above average in this round. Rory and joe mills would've otherwise been joint top scorers, the former's strategy of going for mostly 1-0 home wins paid even bigger dividends than usual as all the African matches finished with that scoreline. The Game's habit of picking on Saturday didn't help, but at least he avoided being lowest scorer despite missing the Friday fixtures.

There's a clear gap at the top now though, as Lawz somehow contrived to score less than anybody else this week, just as hbk4life became the third participant to cause the other bonus rule to be invoked. At the other end the gap is closed, but only by a single point when it needed to be more at this stage. D2Ds are taking another break for now, and will return for this season's last pair after the Easter double round, which is about as late as it can be this year and will be the final chance for everyone to score major points in a single week. Spare a thought for steve, who was again among the worst scorers despite being the only person to get the exact score from Budapest - I've lost count of the number of times I've been totting up the scores and thought something similar about his lack of luck.

Most people did at least get the right result from that Hungary game mind, whilst only 5 players agreed with me about Belgium win, and understandably none thought it would as comfortable a victory as it turned out to be. Elsewhere pretty much all the European games were good for at least one point for most pickers, with Norn Iron's defeat in Belgrade perhaps just edging the others out as best for three-pointers. The identical African scores, meanwhile, proved a mixed bag for many (apart from Rory).

I don't think such an apparently easy card requires any deeper analysis than that. Back to the tougher world of club football with the next set of 10 in a few ticks.
