TheBigBoot
Yeah Green, Juvi's theme was cool.  Although it also sums up my 'problem' with a lot of WCW themes from that era - I think they were great and if I made a Top 50 it would be packed full of them. Its just that there have been so many iconic themes that it is hard to compare the songs of random midcarders to (although in fairness it says "favourite" rather than best so I may well skip main event guys/well known ones entirely and go for the ones I like best) and ten is such a small number I can't see more than one or two making it on my list.  * I will only be accepting theme songs which were or are being used in WWF/E, WCW, ECW & TNA. I can't be bothered trawling through Indie and Britwres songs.  Fair enough. I'll be interested to see if any TNA songs make it into the Top Ten. I can't think of any that I'd put over the very best NWA/WCW, WWF/E or ECW tunes.  Anyway, this is going to be hard. I tried to do this for an article a few years ago but I couldn't narrow it down because whilst there have been a load of awful themes over the years I think there are at least thirty five or so that are about the same level in terms of being arguable 'Top Ten material' although I'm pleased this is "favourite" rather than "best" which will hopefully make it easier.  * Do not pick songs because you are a fan of the band that played the song. "I chose Enter Sandman because Metallica are awesome and I want to stroke James Hetfield's beard" is not a valid arguement for a vote.  Whilst it did suit him and he made it a big part of his act so I could see why people would vote for that as a Top Ten I'm not even sure that was the best ECW entrance song.  2 - Japanese wrestlers music - old orient express music which has been used loads  You know, I really liked The Orient Express' theme (and considering I didn't get into them until Kato joined you could say it was the only thing I liked about them early on). Unfortunately someone at WWF obviously really liked it as well since they kept using it over and over (and over) again any chance they got whenever a new Japanese wrestler appeared. Same with The Sultan/Iron Sheik/Tiger Ali Singh theme.

Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted March 24, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted March 24, 2011 My number one is Brad Armstrong's WCW theme. Its the only theme where you fancy driving a Bentley GT Convertible with a mullet and letting it flow in the wind as you listen to it, going "it's going to be alright" before you put your foot down. In fact, I'd probably have it in my Top 40 but can't see it making the all time ten for me. Liked Storm's one as well from the bits and pieces I've seen of TNA since then.  I actually liked The Flying Elvises theme that they brought back a few years ago for The Kings of Wrestling but I'm probably in the minority with that one.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgW8kEGH_XI  Most of their other stuff I found a bit generic but I'm open to having a listen.  It isn't as much a knock on the TNA Music Department since when I watched it (up to late 2006) I thought Jarrett's and LAX's were both really good, as much as that the old Big Three have had some great ones over the years.  Have only seen Anderson maybe four times (if that many) in TNA and don't remember his theme so I'll definitely give that a listen.  Some reminders of great forgotten gems... Psycosis http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJLmxvTqMRs  Yeah, that's another of those WCW that I really, really liked. TheBigBoot
I'd like to throw out some honorable mentions. Evil Doink Theme I loved this, the way it starts of all happy and then turns sinister, just like Doink was pretty good. I actually really like the Evil Doink and to be honest when the character eventually became a glorified jobber I found that hard to believe and buy into, because Doink was originally a very solid worker.  Money, Money, Money, Money, Money - Money Inc. Like my official nominations, this was an excellent custom track that fitted so perfectly with the character. I actually have trouble thinking of a time when Ted Dibiase didn't come out to this.  Those are both exactly what I was thinking of when I talked about WWF having ones that fitted the characters to a tee. Both are on my Top 30 list (ones I am considering). They just don't give heels, heelish entrance music like they used to.  If Miz or Del Rio came out to something like that I think I'd be more interested in the title matches at 'Mania.  Don't Go Messin' With A Country Boy - Hillbilly Jim/The Godwins Back in the 90's when line dancing was going through a bit of a phase I actually found I could play this alongside stuff like The Woolpackers, Billy Ray, etc and it was keep people dancing.  That's pretty funny, actually. Speaking of songs you can play in a non-wrestling environment I have to give WCW credit for this:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkQV9rUOwj4  You could play that in a club in 1994 and noone would ever know it was a wrasslin' theme. I know I always say wrestling is five years behind the times but one time they got it just right was with the time (would have sounded horribly outdated ten years later, wouldn't have worked for a mainstream audience ten years earlier) in terms of cashing in on the European (and specifically Berlin) Techno music scene. I'm guessing Uncle Eric went clubbing quite a bit in the early Nineties because I can't see Dusty, Hogan or Sullivan coming up with that.  while it wasn't as great as the 1998 Jeff Beck style Horseman tune, the 1990 incarnation of the Horseman had a fucking awesome piece of music.
