The updated table and results have been in their usual places since early yesterday morning. Scores were a bit higher this week, meaning plenty of movement, the most significant of which is hbk4life moving back into top spot on most exact scores. The man who pipped him to the title last year, cheetah, was higest scorer with 11 points, and The Game and Ratty also made it into double figures by virtue of more than 1 correct score. Of those just behind, special mention to Two-Face for getting the scoreline in Florence spot on and going for an away win at Villa Park, something I don't think anybdy else managed.

At the other end, sivy is obviously still bottom but didn't have a bad round, and it's now smp he's chasing in second last place after a 'mare of a week. Not only did he get his D2D wrong, but he failed to score a single point from any of his ther 9 picks. He may derive some consolation from the fact that only a quarter of the other 20 players disagreed with him, including none of the participants mentioned in the previous paragraph. Of those who succeeded in taking the 2 bonuses, most were still wrong since they only foresaw a draw in Palermo.

So, other than that and the aforementioned Wolves victory and Fiorentina match, how did people do predicting the other games? Well, the home win at Stamford Bridge yielded the most points, but some of us did think City could get something there so it wasn't universally fruitful. Rangers winning the last CIS Cup (the sponsor's changing next season) threw a spanner in the works for a lot of people too, while the Gunners' failure to hold on at The Hawthorns caught many out. The basement battle at Robin Park - yeah, I've had enough of 'DW' puns - proved a mixed bag, although the French scores were more advantageous. Lastly in the Potteries, nobody realised there'd be such a margin of victory , even if a home win was the more favoured outcome.

Another D2D next time then, and it's also an international break for the clubs, so no domestic games on the card. Also, as qualifiers now mostly take place on a Friday, the new thread will appear shortly, instead of waiting until tomorrow.
