wow cant believe they put one WCW show in and it was Spring Stampede 1999 - it wasnt anything that amazing as i recall.

It was a good show with a nice mix and variety of styles (and certainly a highlight compared to much of the rest of WCW in 99) but yeah it's not the first show that springs to mind as the sole WCW entry in a list like this. In fact I'd rank the 1994 version above 1999 but I'm not 100% sure when in 94 the switch from SOW to PS happened so maybe it missed the cut.

It missed it by a couple of months, because the first Power Slam has Owen Hart on the cover after winning King Of The Ring.

GAB '96 is the only WCW PPV I can think of from the PS years that could have been better than Spring Stampede '99.

Having recently watched Ayako Hamada v Momoe Nakanishi, I'm in the mood for Joshi so I'm going to start with (4) Manami Toyota v Aja Kong from Big Egg.

I'd say I'd have Joe v Angle from Lockdown 2008 in there over one or two of the TNA selections, and Nigel v Marufuji from GBH V night 2 rather than the Aries match (JUST). I think there is also a case for Richards/Shingo from Open The Untouchable Gate to be in there somewhere. I also think there are better Dragon Gate six-man matches than the ROH one included at number 5, the only match featuring Dragon Gate talent to feature in the top 25.

 

Certain combinations and talent are bummed hard but then in the case of Marufuji and the wonderful pick n mix of Mitsy, Kobashi, Kawada, Akiyama and Taue, its more than fair. I am well chuffed that my own favourite match EVAR gets in at number 2.

 

Also of note is that despite being the perceived best fed in America for several years in the 1990s and having some phenomenal talent, WcW only contributes two matches to Mo's list, both featuring the puny rat of Tijuana, Rrrrey Misterrrio.

 

Bloody good list mind. Main disappointment for me being that I haven't seen more of them!

I'd say a couple of the ROH matches are rated too high. My favourite ROH match is at #57 in Bryan Danielson vs KENTA (September 16th 2006, ROH Glory By Honor V night 2), and there's no way it should be behind #53 Bryan Danielson vs Nigel McGuinness (February 23rd 2008, ROH 6th Anniversary Show) or #49 Bryan Danielson vs Roderick Strong (November 5th 2005, ROH Vendetta).

Yeah the New Japan juniors crew of the 90s dont feature as much as I expected. I suspect Mo was more of an All Japan fan at the time.
