twelve_grand
Although I will say Taz's debut was awesome indeed, even if the entire world knew in advance it was him! Â And that's a lesson WWE need to remember - compare Y2J and Tazz's debuts with the stupid booking in recent years where Christian should of attached Jeff Hardy but they wanted to swerve people. Â I liked the 2000 royal rumble match.
King Pitcos
the stupid booking in recent years where Christian should of attached Jeff Hardy Have. Â And why would Christian have been trying to murder Jeff Hardy? It makes even less sense than the Psycho Matt story did.
Paid Members IANdrewDiceClay Posted February 26, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted February 26, 2011 And why would Christian have been trying to murder Jeff Hardy? It makes even less sense than the Psycho Matt story did. Because Monty Brown and Jeff Hardy were about to feud in TNA until Jeff walked out, leaving Monty as Christian's first feud. Obviously he'd have been well pissed off with this. The only reason Christian resign with WWE was for revenge for that dire feud, but Vince nixed it. Noticed Hardy didn't last long after Christian arrived in WWE again? Christian will have his day in the sun with Jeffro, for putting him through that piss poor program with Monty Brown. Just watch. Paid Members air_raid Posted February 27, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted February 27, 2011 As for the Royal Rumble. For the most part, I'd say it was completely dull and uninteresting. The Rock's entrance provoked a massive pop, the ending was done pretty well (if not a repeat of 1995) but that was about it. It was a seriously dull RR match. Â Not really. I guess he meant 1994, except it wasn't a very good repeat because Show and Rock didn't do it very well and Rock ended up hitting the ground first. Â As for the list, I agree mostly with it, although I've never been a fan of women's wrestling, even very good women's wrestling like is featured in the shows ranked 1st and 3rd. In my opinion, Dr is In is a better show than A Matter of Respect incidentally.

Except there was no ambiguity as to who won, no referees arguing, no controversy on the night, no co-winners. Nothing like 1994. They might have retconned some floor/feet stuff in the weeks that followed, but the finish was nothing like 1994.  Nor 1995, with the "Bulldog winning" false finish. No false finish in 2000. Rock held on, and won. Simples.
Mr.Showtime
I'm not much of a Power Slam fan but it was a good issue to see them write about some old school PPVs. Not exactly an expert on Jap stuff so I can't talk about that but they were spot on with much of the American shows, and worst shows etc. I do agree with whoever in the thread mentioned Mania 19, which wrestling-wise is well above X7 - X7's early matches in general aren't that good, even if one does feature the impeccable D'Lo Brown. Mr.Showtime
Huh? Which match has D Lo? I apologise - I was thinking of Wrestlemania 2000. And there we go - this just shows why the first half of Mania X7 wasn't actually that good in hindsight. No D'Lo!

stingersplash
wow cant believe they put one WCW show in and it was Spring Stampede 1999 - it wasnt anything that amazing as i recall. Â wcw in 1998 however - they had some awesome shows and still have the most stacked ppv card in at least US history with Uncensored 1998. that and Spring Stampede 1998 were awesome back to back shows. Â and thats 3000 posts too. wooooo!
The Reverend
I'd put Summerslam 95 on there. Not every match was a classic but there were some good matches considering that the WWF was a pile of shite back then!

It was a good show with a nice mix and variety of styles (and certainly a highlight compared to much of the rest of WCW in 99) but yeah it's not the first show that springs to mind as the sole WCW entry in a list like this. In fact I'd rank the 1994 version above 1999 but I'm not 100% sure when in 94 the switch from SOW to PS happened so maybe it missed the cut.
