Paid Members PunkStep Posted February 18, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted February 18, 2011 The Wicker Man remake with Nic Cage. Any excuse to post this video... Oh my word, that is awful. To be honest, I don't expect anything less. IMO Cage is by far the worst actor (well, big name at least) in Hollywood. How the fuck did he become so successful? He's been shit in everything, except Raising Arizona.  This remix is good:

Well, I haven't seen Leaving Las Vegas. Apparently he's meant to be good in that. But in everything I've seen him in, I think he has been boring and pretty shit. Â Edit: I found this link showing the 'best' bits of the Wicker Man remake.

He's been shit in loads of things, but he's also been great in loads of things. Peggy Sue Got Married, Wild At Heart, Honeymoon In Vegas, Red Rock West, The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off, Snake Eyes, Adaptation - all great films, and he's great in them all. Didn't like him much in Face/Off, thought Travolta was class. Didn't like him in Con Air, and surprisingly haven't seen the others (I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen The Rock).  But I will concede one great thing- 1:20 into . I have literally spent the last 5 mins in tears watching this
The Maestro
Knightrider. SHOCKING. Â Don't you mean Ghostrider? And yes, that was shit. Â Cage is a funny one. He can be sublime in one thing and dreadful in another. At least when he is dreadful, it is humourous. Like in The Wicker Man.

Smeg_&_The_Heads
The Nightmare On Elm St remake IMO is not just the worse remake ever but maybe the worse film I've ever watched that is the only film what made me want to walk out of the cinema I only stayed in hope it would somehow get better plus the fact I'm a huge Freddy fan hell I even liked the series but not that crap. The Maestro
This thread has made me realise something. I don't think that there are any remakes that surpass the original. I really can't think of one off the top of my head. The only good remakes I can think of are Dawn Of The Dead (which is nowhere near as good as the original) and Cape Fear (even though I haven't seen the original). I'm sure someone on this board can enlighten me on the matter.

ocean 11, the fly, the thing, the thomas crown affair, casino royale all off the top of my head in my opinion better than the originals. Oh Scarface as well.  While on top the recent remake of The Prisoner was such a pointless exercise.
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted February 18, 2011 Paid Members Share Posted February 18, 2011 The 1976 remake of King Kong was pretty lame, but Peter Jackson's version is just about as shit as it's possible for a film to get.
patiirc
Better than the original? Â Invasion of the Body Snatchers ( 1970's) version is pretty good, better than Abel Ferrara's 1990s version which is still good and the Original which is good, but not as good as the remake
Smeg_&_The_Heads
Knightrider. SHOCKING. Â I liked that plus to be fair it wasn't really a remake but more a continuation as it did say the original series happened and the new Michael Knight was the son of the original so it's more like Star Trek TNG than a full on remake/reboot
